MLBB’s newest and 126th hero, Suyou, has just recently been released to the official server. He is a Fighter/Assassin hero that boasts a vast arsenal as well as high adaptability that can make for a viable pick for most lineups and game phases.

With the plans for new events and the new rank mode Battlefield Draft available from Epic rank and above—Suyou will be quite the favorite pick for his dynamic playstyle. However, Suyou, like every power that is great, requires responsibility. The new hero is said to be up there among the ranks of Heroes with highest difficulty.

Mastery is key and practice makes perfect—that is why we bring you the perfect ultimate beginner guide on how to utilize Suyou’s full potential.

Suyou’s Skills Spotlight

How To Play Suyou MLBB Hero Ultimate Beginner Guide (2)

Passive: Transient Immortal

Suyou’s passive allows him to switch between his Mortal and Immortal form. His Mortal form activates when you tap his skills, which gives him a boost in movement speed that allows him to rotate around the map quickly. Holding his skills tap into the power of his Immortal form. He gains increased range for his basic attacks and a higher damage reduction that scales with his extra Physical Attack.

First Skill: Blade Surge

Tapping his first skill throws his weapon at the target location causing damage to everything in its path. Suyou would then blink and perform a slash behind him to damage anything caught in it. Holding this skill down will perform a charging attack that hits everything in the way. When Suyou hits an enemy hero, he stops and performs a rectangular attack in front of him which damages and stuns the affected enemy heroes.

Second Skill: Soul Sever

A skill tap would make him attack in a fan shaped area that deals damage to enemies hit. Additionally, a damage increase occurs which scales with the amount of HP the enemies have lost. A hold-cast performs three cleaves in a fan shaped area that deals more damage upon the third hit, also restoring Suyou’s HP.

Third Skill: Evil Queller

Tapping this skill will have Suyou perform a backward glide while he swings his weapon, dealing damage and applying a slow effect to enemies hit. When holding this skill, Suyou shoots an arrow that damages the enemies it hits. The range depends on how long you charge this skill.

A Dual-Role Threat

As an Assassin/Fighter Hero with great versatility, the main role for Suyou is definitely a Jungler. This will provide Suyou the opportunity to control the game by securing objectives and kills around the map. If your team already has a Jungler, Suyou’s capacity to sustain damage will make him a formidable fighter played at the EXP lane.

MLBB’s new hero is the best of both worlds—you get to make the choice. Suyou can fill either role and perform it well, making the initial difficulty of mastering him be well worth it the longer you play. For each role, Suyou would naturally have different requirements for optimal setups.

Role: Core/Jungler Suyou

As a Jungler, your battle spell would be Retribution. This will allow you to farm the jungle creeps faster and help you secure objectives like the turtle and lord.

Emblem Setup:

The Emblem Setup to optimize Suyou’s potential best is the assassin emblem. Its talent tree should be:

  • First Talent: Rupture – This is for the damage penetration which is crucial to get kills especially in the early game.
  • Second Talent: Seasoned Hunter or Weapon Master – Seasoned Hunter would allow Suyou to farm faster and kill turtles and lords quicker. Weapon Master is also a good choice for it will give you more physical attack and magic damage from weapons, emblems, and skills.
  • Third Talent: Lethal Ignition – This will provide Suyou with more adaptive damage to burst down enemy heroes, especially the squishy ones.

Role: EXP Laner Suyou

When playing Suyou in the EXP lane, you only have to do minor changes with emblem build and battle spells. Use Vengeance instead of Retribution to increase Suyou’s sustain and reflect some of the damage taken back to enemies.

Emblem Setup:

For an EXP laner Suyou, the assassin emblem is still your best choice. However, the fighter emblem would also be a viable option if you prefer to tank a lot more in team fights.

  • First Talent: Firmness – This will give you extra physical and magic defense. This is a must have as fighters tend to engage more in teamfights,
  • Second Talent: Festival of Blood – This ability would give you a massive Spell Vamp boost that stacks up to eight times. You’d be even more durable if you have the fighter emblem equipped.
  • Third Talent: Brave Smite – Brave Smite makes you last longer in teamfights, thanks to the ability to recover some HP when dealing damage.

Recommended Item Build

To maximize Suyou’s potential, this is the build you’d want to try:

  1. Tough Boots – to reduce control effects and give Suyou additional magic defense.
  2. War Axe – for extra attack damage, Spell Vamp, cooldown reduction, and true damage at full stack.
  3. Hunter Strike – for damage, physical penetration, and extra movement speed upon dealing damage. Plus additional 10% cooldown reduction.
  4. Blade of Despair – for even more damage! This will give a small movement speed boost and any enemies that are low on HP will receive more damage.
  5. Malefic Roar – which gives a lot of physical penetration to counter defensive items and helps kill tanky heroes.
  6. Sea Halberd – mainly for reducing enemies’ healing and shields, leaving them helpless against Suyou. This will also give a 20% attack speed boost and a slight damage increase against bulky enemies.

For spare Items, you can add Immortality for safety measures especially in the late game, or Rose Gold Meteor for damage and survivability.

Suyou’s Ultimate Game Plan

Whichever lane you are planning to play Suyou on, it is best to prioritize upgrading his second skill. At level 2, get his third, then his first skill. Your skill upgrades should prioritize the second skill then first skill. Fully upgrade third skill last.

When Jungling, try to always stay in his Immortal form because this will provide you with more durability and damage especially in the early game. Use his Mortal form to be able to move around the map a lot faster, this will create so much opportunity to gain control of the game flow.

When engaging for a fight or ambushing, tap-cast for his first skill would be best because of the additional stun. During teamfights, staying in his Immortal form would make you last longer, while switching to his Mortal form would be great for chasing down enemies and finishing them off, or if you need to escape.

Additional Tips
– When fighting enemies from close distances, tapping his first skill would allow you to deal more damage than hold-casting it.

– His second skill also does more damage in close combat especially if the enemy heroes are low on HP.

– Be mindful of his third skill’s charging time because it is very short, practice is important.
