How good are the new Lenovo gaming laptops? 

Lenovo has announced four new gaming laptops that are taking on their desktop rivals. The new Lenovo Legion 7i and 7 are currently the most powerful 16-inch gaming laptops in the world, while the new Lenovo Legion Slim 7i and 7 are Lenovo Legion’s thinnest and lightest gaming laptops so far.

The new Lenovo devices also feature the largest battery capacity among 16-inch gaming laptops and are the first to feature FHD webcams. Furthermore, they are the only 16-inch gaming laptops with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. New Lenovo gaming laptops specifics

The Lenovo Legion 7i and 7 feature 12th Gen Intel Core HX Series or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU (up to 175W TGP) or AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT mobile graphics, DDR5 memory and Gen 4 PCIe SSD storage. It’s all packed into a 2.5kg body with a 99.99Wh battery — the world’s largest battery in a 16-inch gaming laptop.

The Lenovo Legion TrueStrike Keyboard features curved keys and WASD Force Sensor technology with optional interchangeable keys. The pressure point of the keys can also be adjusted via software, which makes typing feel good.

There are numerous well-equipped devices in the current gaming laptop market, at least on paper. The reason for what makes Lenovo devices so special is very simple — thanks to powerful and reliable cooling, the built-in hardware can always exploit its full potential. This may now sound obvious to many, but laptops equipped with powerful hardware often cannot run at maximum performance because insufficient cooling quickly becomes a bottleneck.

According to the manufacturer, tests were carried out with laptops that have identical hardware installed, and the Lenovo devices achieved significantly better test results. This is due to the already mentioned cooling and, as well as due to the optimal power supply, which supplies all components with sufficient power at all times and thus guarantees full performance over the long term.

User experience is the top priority

The new models don’t only impress with strong performance, as Lenovo places great emphasis on offering users the best possible user experience. For example, the Legion Slim 7i and 7 have a built-in card reader, which just makes sense as the models’ slim designs make them ideal for content creators. Connections such as HDMI 2.1 are located on the back of the devices and ensure that there is space next to the laptops and that no cables get in the way.
