Since the launch of Counter-Strike on March 22, we’ve heard, read, and seen great things about the game’s new features. However, being a limited beta, players must give feedback so that the developers can tailor the game for its global release.

One of the players who has given his opinion about CS2 is Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, the IGL of one of the best teams in the world today, G2 Esports. HooXi says most of the features are very good, but he specifically asks for one change regarding the new smokes.

HooXi points out that he doesn’t like one mechanic of the new smokes in CS2

First, we should remember that Counter-Strike 2 brought new smoke grenades that are now volumetric and interact with the rest of the objects and characters, i.e., bullets, grenades, and characters. In conclusion, Valve tried to give a little more realism to the game through the new smokes, which, undoubtedly, are one of the fundamental pillars of this FPS.

However, HooXi disagrees that HE Grenades can make this smoke disappear briefly.

In a Twitlonger posted on his Twitter account, HooXi detailed his opinions regarding CS2’s new features. First, he explains that his opinions are based on only one day of testing and few games played.

On the other hand, he points out that he likes that Valve has not changed much of the mechanics and gameplay concerning the weapons. He then points out that the ones that have undergone some modifications are the Scout, the Deagle, and the AK-47.

HooXi says the maps are cartoonish

Next, HooXi focuses his opinions on the maps, where he points out that the lighting is very good but that the cartoonish look of Fortnite and VALORANT is not to his liking. In this sense, we could agree with him, as those of us who have always loved CS:GO have been very proud that it was not a cartoon-like video game.

New smoke grenades

Now, HooXi focuses his opinion, as is obvious, on the aspect he didn’t like about CS2, and that is the mechanic that HE grenades make the smokes disappear for 3-4 seconds, which he considers to be too much. Furthermore, HooXi points out that this will completely change the way CS is played and throws a dart at Valve, saying that you must be careful about changing some essential game features from the beginning.

He then points out that he is not the type of gamer who doesn’t like changes, but he tried to look on the bright side for several minutes and always came to the same conclusion.

While HooXi detailed that he doesn’t like that feature of the new smokes, he gave the game an overall score of 8/10. He also noted that thanks to the community’s feedback in this Beta, Valve will be able to make the necessary changes to release a spectacular game next summer officially.
