In the last few hours, a controversy has erupted around one of the CS:GO players who have won everything in recent months with his team, G2 Esports. We are talking about Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, who has been accused of making pro-Russia comments through his alleged Telegram account.

Recall that many players have taken a stand against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine throughout this year, where thousands of lives have been lost in this inexplicable war. Players like Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev, Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, and many more have taken a radical stance around this situation, and the entire CS:GO community has backed them up.

HooXi accused of allegedly making pro-Russia comments on Telegram

According to screenshots posted on Twitter by the Ukrainian commentator Oleksandr “shoker” Osheka, HooXi made some comments regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, where it could be noticed that he would be in favor of the Russians.

As we can see in the images, we can see what HooXi supposedly would have answered to a person who claims to be an administrator of a charity tournament. According to the person, it would be to raise funds for Ukraine.

The former Ukrainian player and now official caster and analyst Arsenij “ceh9” Trynozhenko accompanied these images with the following words:

“G2’s fabulous geopolitical son of a bitch Mamkin HooXi previously photographed with the Russian flag. At first, he wanted to play in a $500 charity tournament. However, after the organizer explained that the tournament was a charity and aimed to stop Russian aggression, the #1 HLTV World Ranked Team Captain said, “they don’t want to help Ukraine in this war because Russia’s victory is inevitable.”

HooXi’s response

To this, the G2 Esports captain has completely denied making those comments. Furthermore, HooXi said the conversation and the message responses were completely false.

HooXi, on his Twitter, gave a statement where he points out that he pays no attention to “journalists” who try to make him look bad with comments he has not made. But, on the other hand, he says that it is very complicated for him to see how easy it is to post this type of controversy to try to harm him and that these have no consequences.

On the other hand, the player has also assured that he does not have an official Telegram profile, a messaging application widely used in Russia, Brazil, and India.

We all know that Telegram is used for many informative purposes. However, there will always be those who want to take something terribly out of everything and start spreading this kind of controversy that can, without a doubt, damage people’s lives.

This all occurred after G2 Esports declined to have their photo taken with the Ukrainian flag at IEM Katowice 2023, as ceh9 pointed out in his (albeit somewhat hostile) post. HooXi has refuted this accusation on behalf of the squad in various media outlets. As a result, the org, or specifically the G2 CS:GO team has been branded pro-Russian by some members of the community.
