Honkai Star Rail Version 3.5 Update Schedule, Compensation & More

The next big patch for Honkai: Star Rail is closing in, and it going to bring fresh content, few adjustments and also rewards for Trailblazers. Alongside this, there will be maintenance downtime where players can’t log in at all. It’s better if players plan a bit earlier so the switch to the new version doesn’t cause trouble later.

Honkai Star Rail Version 3.5 Update Schedule

Maintenance will be happening from 06:00 (UTC+8) on August 13, 2025, and it might take close to five hours to finish. During that time, the servers will stay offline, and logging in won’t be possible. After it’s done, players need to update their client before they can play again. Because the download is heavy, using a proper Wi-Fi connection is suggested to avoid slow or failed updates.

Once everything is live, Honkai: Star Rail will switch to Version 3.5, which has the name “Before Their Deaths.” This update is set to bring new gameplay content, better system optimization, and bug fixes. More details about the changes and features should be announced in later official posts.

Honkai Star Rail Version 3.5 Compensation for Maintenance

Players who already reached Trailblaze Level 4 or above before the maintenance starting time will be given Stellar Jade ×300 as compensation for the downtime. These will be sent directly to the in-game mailbox within five hours after servers are back. Be sure to claim before this version ends; otherwise, the reward won’t be available anymore.

Honkai Star Rail Version 3.5 Pre-Download Guide

The pre-install option for Version 3.5 is already up for everyone:

PC: Go to HoYoPlay and click the Game Pre-Installation button beside Start Game. The game can still be played while downloading in the background.
Mobile (Android/iOS): On the login screen, press the Resource Pre-Download button at the lower-right. Game access is locked until the files are done downloading.
PlayStation: If there is enough free space, the system will begin auto pre-install soon after the game is launched.

Also, after the update, the PC version will get a “Delete Past Mission Resources” function, while mobile devices will clear old mission data that’s not required anymore, which will help to reduce the total storage usage.
