Halo Infinite’s Final Major Update: What’s Free in the “Operation: Infinite” Drop

fragster James Steward 24. November 2025

Halo Infinite has released what is its last major content update officially, which is called Operation: Infinite, after four years of support without pause. As Halo Studios has stated, this will contain some free and premium content and is a fitting send-off for active development ceasing on a very full and generous note for players. Below is a detailed list of all of the confirmed free features from the official patch notes and announcements.

Key Free Features in Operation: Infinite

1. Free 100-Tier Operation Pass

With this update, all players have access to a free 100-tier Operation Pass.

If you finish all 100 tiers, you unlock three complete armor sets: Serpin, Seeker, and Adamant.

Additionally, you will acquire a host of cosmetics: multiple armor coatings (Questing Sky, Celestite Sparkle, Unbroken Defender, Silent Snow), the Icicle Falls visor, a Blackened Steel weapon coating, and a “Respect” stance.

2. Double Progression Bonuses

Operation: Infinite multiplies two major progression systems by 2×:

  • Career Rank: All of the Applied Score multipliers for every matchmaking playlist will be 2×, which guarantees the rank progression will be faster.
  • Spartan Points (SP): The SP reward for daily challenges and weekly ultimate challenges will also be 2×.

3. Free Login Reward for 25th Anniversary

In acknowledgment of the 25th anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved, all players will receive a free bundle by just logging into the game. The bundle consists of these customization items:

  • 25th Anniversary Nameplate
  • GEN XII Vehicle Coating
  • Access Denied Armor Coating
  • Lifegivers Hex Weapon Coating
  • Ring Breaker Weapon Charm
  • Zeta Emissary and Zeta Trailblazer nameplates

4. New Free Maps

Two maps forged by the community are available at no cost for everyone:

  • Vacancy: an asymmetrical hotel-themed map forged by MikRips and Ethan Hibbs. It is playable in Ranked Arena, Slayer, Doubles, and a majority of ranked rotational game modes.

5. New Customizations via The Exchange

The Exchange has added more than 200 new items that can be customized. Accessories, armor, charms, visors, coatings, and many more customization items can now be earned just by playing.

The new earnable armor sets include Whisper, Lancer and Dirgesinger.

Additional Context & Significance

  • Final Update Status: 343 Industries has confirmed Operation: Infinite as the final significant update for Halo Infinite.
  • Entering Maintenance Mode: After the update, the game will enter into maintenance mode, rather than releasing significant feature drops.
  • Premium Option Available: In addition to the free pass, there is also a 100-tier Premium Operation Pass.
  • No Expiration on Operation Passes: Neither the free pass nor the premium time passes expire. Once you have made progress, you can take your time to continue.

Conclusion

Operation: Infinite provides the sense of a sincere goodbye to Halo Infinite. The free 100-tier pass, accelerated progression, two fresh maps and over 200 cosmetics present a lot of value. At the same time, the update signifies an undeniable inflection point, as Halo Studios will move into maintenance mode for support, while diverting development resources to new Halo properties. This is a celebration and a justified reward for the players who’ve hung around. For an uncertain number of players that might be just arriving to the game, it provides a strong, comprehensive and generous entry point.
