GuardiaN Comes Back To Counter-Strike

fragster Jennifer Davis 27. June 2024

GuardiaN is one of those Counter-Strike players who peak out of the blue, stay at the top for 3 – 5 years, and then disappear completely.

The story of GuardiaN, the man who used to obliterate opponents with his AWP skills, is a fascinating one. The first time when CS fans had the opportunity to see him in action at a top team for a prolonged period was in 2013. Back then, he joined Natus Vincere and remained at the club for three and a half years.

After that, he joined FaZe Clan and competed for another two years before returning to Na’Vi. But the second time, he only played for four months before getting benched.

February 2021 was the last time when the world could see GuardiaN in action. But the truth is that his career as a top player ended much earlier. After EPICENTER 2019, which took place in December, GuardiaN did not have any significant results.

So it’s been four and a half years since GuardiaN disappeared from the spotlight. But now he’s coming back as a coach and will assist BC.Game in their mission to make a name for themselves.

GuardiaN’s Results And Skills

GuardiaN’s best results came between April 2016 – April 2019. In three years, he won eight important trophies and played in two other Major Grand Finals. His most significant success was winning ELEAGUE Premier 2017, which was essentially a CS:GO Major.

Both Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan allowed GuardiaN to showcase his amazing skills as an AWPer. Despite the last 4 – 5 years of absence and failures, many of his memorable plays are still being watched by fans on YouTube. One of his frag films, made by SuperstituM, has 3.3 million views.

At 32 years old, it seems that GuardiaN is eager to make a comeback. However, his ability to coach a team has never been proven. On top of that, he was always a great player but I don’t remember him serving as IGL. Combined with the long absence, these deficiencies might not allow him to get top results with his new team.

However, only time will tell. Meanwhile, it’s great that he’s back. CS2 is always in need of captivating people who can bring something to the table.
