New Playable Characters: Durin and Jahoda
Two of the biggest additions in the Genshin Impact Luna III update are the new characters Durin and Jahoda.
- Durin is a five-star Pyro sword user who can switch between dealing damage and supporting the team. Players may recognize him from earlier story events in Simulanka and Nod-Krai, and Luna III finally lets you play him.
- Jahoda is a four-star Anemo bow character who can heal and deal damage even when she’s off the field. She has appeared in the story as part of the Curatorium of Secrets, and Luna III marks her first time being featured on a banner with Durin.
Luna III Character Event Banners
Here are the following characters you can pull for when the version launches. Remember to save up Primogems if you want to get them!
- Phase 1: Durin (5★), Venti (5★) rerun, Jahoda (4★)
- Phase 2: Varesa (5★) and Xilonen (5★) reruns
New 5-star weapons will also be featured in Phase 1 of the Weapon Event banners. You can pull for Durin’s sword, Athame Artis, and Venti’s new bow, The Daybreak Chronicles.
New Story: A Nocturne of the Far North
The main story continues with a new Archon Quest called “Song of the Welkin Moon: A Nocturne of the Far North.” In this chapter, the Traveler joins Nod-Krai’s festival, Moon Prayer Night, and meets Durin, Wanderer, and other important characters again. Columbina, Nicole, and Alice also appear, adding more detail to the ongoing Hexenzirkel storyline.
Durin will also get his own Story Quest, “Draco Rubedo Chapter: Act I — The Magic Known as Storytelling,” which follows his new life in Mondstadt.
Events and Content Coming in Luna III
The Genshin Impact Luna III update includes several events that reward Primogems, materials, and even free characters:
Witch’s Homework – Players can give tasks to certain companions who can become Hexerei characters. These characters will gain new combat buffs from the Hexerei: Secret Rite, which works a lot like the Moonsign mechanic from Nod-Krai. After you complete the introduction quest, you can also invite Fischl, Bennett, or Sucrose to join your team.
Soulblazer’s Snowbound Journey – A Dragonspine event that includes several mini-games and a special 4-star bow (Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow) as a reward. There are four training mini-games in total, offering a mix of fighting, parkour challenges, and fun carnival-style activities.
- Snowtrace
- Frontier Recon
- Jade Pitching
- A Trial of Valor
Bing-Bang Finchball – A returning Natlan event where players can score points by tossing around a finchball with paddles in order to bounce and hit opponents.
Heroic Clash: Saurian Brawl – Another Natlan co-op event that allows players to indwell Saurians and collect coins around different battlefields.
Marvelous Merchandise – Liben returns with rewards and new hints about Mondstadt’s new region.
New World Boss
The update also brings a new world boss called the Super-Heavy Landrover: Mechanized Fortress. This Fatui machine uses strong ranged attacks and drops the ascension materials you need to level up Durin.
Other Content Updates
- New Envisaged Echoes – Klee and Albedo
- New TCG Cards: Escoffier, gaming, and Black Serpent Knight: Rockbreaker’s Ax
- Repertoire of Myriad Melodies content: custom difficulties and a co-op mode
- Silvermoon Hall: New Interactions with Columbina and the kuuhenki
Conclusion
The Genshin Impact Luna III update delivers a major wave of content that mixes brand-new characters, meaningful story progress, and fun seasonal events. With Durin’s long-awaited debut, Jahoda’s introduction, and several character buffs, the update gives Travelers plenty of reasons to jump back into the world of Teyvat.
