Genshin Impact: DPS Venti Build Guide

fragster James Steward 18. December 2025

The new Genshin Impact Version 6.2, “Luna III,” has changed the meta for the original cast of Mondstadt fundamentally. Although the update brought the much-anticipated Hexerei system, a lore-based buff mechanism related to Hexenzirkel, no one character has gone up as much as the Anemo Archon himself, Venti.

In a nutshell, Venti was just the best crowd-control support, a “black hole” machine, for years. However, with the Luna III update, Venti has been given kit changes that not only allow but actually compel the user to take the on-field Main DPS playstyle. This guide explains how to build the new “God of Winds” Venti as a DPS.

The Hexerei Overhaul: Venti’s New Kit

The key to Venti’s resurgence has to do with the Hexerei System, which offers retroactive buffs to chosen characters. Venti’s Hexerei upgrades are all about granting him in-field action when cast with Elemental Burst, ‘Wind’s Grand Ode.’

  • Anemo Infusion and Piercing Arrows: As long as Venti’s Burst is active, his Normal Attack will have Anemo Infusion. In addition, his basic arrow attack becomes a wind arrow that pierces the enemy, resulting in enhanced AoE damage.
  • Burst Extension: Landing these infused Normal Attacks increases the length of Wind’s Grand Ode by 2 seconds, which increases the uptime of his iconic crowd control effect as he pushes the damage pressure on-field.
  • Self-Swirl Buff: “A brand-new passive ability gives a 50% Damage Bonus to the character on-field if a Swirl reaction is triggered. This ability originally provided a buff to your teammates, but it’s applied to Venti directly as he’s catalyzing reactions within his hurricane.”

Weapon Loadout: The Daybreak Chronicles

Version 6.2 introduced Venti’s new best-in-slot (BiS) weapon, The Daybreak Chronicles, a 5-star bow designed specifically for this new playstyle.

Base Stats (Lv. 90): 674 ATK | 44.1% CRIT DMG

Passive Effect: This weapon has the unique “Stirring Dawn Breeze” mechanism. This allows an incredible 60% Damage Bonus on Normal Attacks, Skills, and Bursts when engaging combat. This damage bonus is degraded over time but can be regenerated (+10% per hit) by striking enemies, thus promoting the rapid-firing gameplay Venti wields.

Alternative Options

Polar Star

  • Polar Star: Continues to be one of the best options mainly because of its Crit Rate substat and ATK buffs from Skill/Burst usage, which are a perfect fit for Venti’s rotation.
  • Skyward Harp: A dependable stat stick that helps to balance the Crit ratios (Crit Rate main stat, Crit DMG passive).
  • Rust (4-Star): The 80% Normal Attack DMG Increase, coupled with the interaction with the Anemo-infused arrow spam, makes Refinement 5 Rust viable among the F2P casting DPS lineup.

Artifact Configuration: The New Standard

Since Venti is moving to deal most of his damage with Normal Attacks, the typical Viridescent Venerer (VV) set is no longer his best option; however, it is still good for team utility. In the case of a “Hypercarry” Venti, our attention goes to the Sumeru Desert.

Best Set: Desert Pavilion Chronicle (4-Piece)

This set represents the math max that Hexerei Venti can achieve.

This collection represents the math ceiling for Hexerei Venti.

  • 2-Piece: +15% Anemo DMG Bonus.
  • 4-Piece: When a Charged Attack hits an opponent, the character’s Normal Attack Speed increases by 10%, and Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG increases by 40% for 15s.

Strategy: You only have to do one Charged Attack at the start of your rotation to activate the speed and damage buff, then you can go ahead and spam his infused Normal Attacks.

Stats Priority

  • Sands: ATK%
  • Goblet: Anemo DMG Bonus
  • Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG (Target a 1:2 ratio)
  • Substats: CRIT > ATK% > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery.

Note: Although EM is great for Swirls, a crit-focused build will scale better with his new motion values and piercing arrow mechanics.

Talent Priority

To inflict maximum damage in the Luna III meta, the focus of the priority changes simply no longer coexist with his Burst.

  1. Normal Attack: Divine Marksmanship (Priority #1 – mainly for the infusion damage)
  2. Elemental Burst: Wind’s Grand Ode (Heavy crowd control and base damage)
  3. Elemental Skill: Skyward Sonnet (Energy generation and fast nuke)

Team Compositions

Team Compositions

Venti, at present, requires a team that enhances his individual damage rather than a team that counts on him for support.

Hexerei DPS Core: Durin, Faruzan, Bennett, and Venti

  • Durin is the main source of shred, Hexerei synergy, and secondary damage.
  • Faruzan raises Anemo damage and energy production.
  • Bennett strengthens the team’s DPS and makes sure that the team stays alive.
  • Venti is the main DPS who benefits from both Hexerei activation and uninterrupted attacks.

Hexerei Geo/Anemo Team: Venti, Albedo, Faruzan, and Bennett

  • Albedo’s constructs are mainly used to restrain the enemies and provide passive team buffs.
  • Faruzan makes Anemo damage stronger and helps with energy generation.
  • Bennett increases the team’s DPS and makes sure that everyone stays alive.
  • Venti, being the main DPS, gets the most out of the situation as he can use both Hexerei activation and do his attacks consistently.

Anemo-Hydro Reaction Team: Mona, Venti, Faruzan, and Bennett

  • Mona’s Hydro application is the source of consistent Swirl reactions with Venti’s infused attacks, while also serving as a damage buff.
  • Faruzan has a significant effect on Anemo damage as well as energy generation.
  • Bennett increases the team’s DPS and makes sure that everyone stays alive.
  • Venti is the main DPS who benefits from both Hexerei activation and uninterrupted attacks.

Electro-Charged / Reaction-Heavy Team: Venti, Fischl, Faruzan, and Bennett / Hydro Unit

  • Faruzan increases Anemo damage and energy generation.
  • Venti gets power from both Hexerei activation and regular attacks.
  • Fischl supports the Swirl to spread both Hydro and Electro to enemies, thus allowing continuous Electro-Charged reactions to occur, in which Venti is the one sticking to the field.
  • Bennett / Hydro Unit boosts the swirl reactions to produce more Electro-Charged/Oceanic reactions.

Conclusion

The “Luna III” patch has brought about a successful resurgence of one of Genshin Impact’s oldest characters. With the use of the Hexerei system, Venti can go from a substitution play-support to a true Anemo hypercarry. With The Daybreak Chronicles unlocked and a set of Desert Pavilion equipment, the Anemo Archon can now unleash his destruction firsthand and show that freedom truly means the freedom to ruin your enemies.
