Earlier in the year 2025, the players performed under Wildcard Gaming, and in October, they rebranded themselves back to Apex Genesis. With a scant of resources, the team managed to turn themselves into the most promising Dota 2 squads in North America and they kept qualifying for major events in the region and raking up good results in the qualifiers. With a match win rate that is more than 60% of the total of around 90 professional encounters, Apex Genesis were among the small handful of teams from NA who were still able to keep up with the competitive momentum despite the regional scene was going down.

Their accomplishments were especially impressive in light of the fact that the likes of Evil Geniuses, Nouns Esports, and Shopify Rebellion, the big names in the North American scene, had recently been disbanded. So, the entry of GamerLegion is a welcome relief and a timely injection of fresh energy and capital for the region that is in desperate need of stability and a new round of investment.

First Performance and Future Prospects

The technician will be under the GamerLegion flag and debut at the PGL Wallachia Season 6, which will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from the 15th of November. The team would also check in at DreamLeague Season 27 come December, a future T1 international test that would be their first.

If we look at the whole picture, what follows from the joining of Apex Genesis and GamerLegion is that north American Dota 2 will see a new life thanks to the much-needed increase in resources unleashed by the partnership. While their long-term impact depends on the results, the mere fact of GamerLegion’s arrival conveys that the global Dota 2 scene will witness a new era of support for NA ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌talent.
