G2 Gozen Win EMEA Game Changers Series 1

Berlin-based organisation G2 takes home its second VALORANT Game Changers title. G2 faced Guild X in the Grand Final of the Game Changers Series 1, whom they already faced in the upper bracket final, they day befor. Women’s team G2 Gozen defeated Guild X to win the EMEA Game Changers Series 1.

G2 Gozen prevails

G2 Gozen won the final against Guild X with 3-1 on Sunday, February 6 and took home the first VALORANT title for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East in 2022. G2 didn’t surrender a single map until the grand finale, posting a 19-1 overall record throughout the event and open qualifiers. Guild X had to fight their way through the lower bracket. The day before, they lost the upper bracket final against G2. G2 went straight to the final.

With TENSTAR Nova, Guild X hat to play another Game Changer champion in the lower bracket final. Guild X won against TENSTAR Nova with 2-1, to make sure they will get their rematch with G2 in the Grand Final. This win probably brings G2 another step further to the scheduled Game Changers international LAN tournament.

G2 Gozen is always up for some fun

G2’s Michaela “mimi” Lintrup was voted as player of the match by fans after the Game Changers final. The 24-year-old Dane had the second highest kills/death/assists during the whole event (1.61). Mimi thanked her coaches and team for their performance, in an interview after the Grand Final,

G2 is no stranger to poking a little fun during post-game interviews. After their last match, the whole team had appeared in the background pretending to be sleeping during an interview.

When asked who she thought would be their biggest enemy internationally for the upcoming Game Changer Lan, Mimi answered that it is hard to make any predictions because they haven’t really played against any of those teams and that there are so many different regions

But then she pointed to one particular North American team and said Cloud9 is their main focus when the international LAN takes place.
