FUT end Lynn Vision’s BLAST Open Porto run despite Starry masterclass

FUT Esports have kept their BLAST Open Porto 2026 campaign alive after recovering from a map down to defeat Lynn Vision 2-1 in the Group B lower bracket.

The Chinese lineup opened the series with a 13-10 victory on Dust2 and looked capable of producing another upset. FUT responded decisively, however, crushing Anubis 13-3 before closing Ancient 13-7 to eliminate Lynn Vision from the tournament.

The result sends FUT forward to face Inner Circle for a place in the group’s lower final.

Lynn Vision strike first on Dust2

Lynn Vision selected Dust2 and immediately showed why they remain dangerous despite inconsistent international results.

The Chinese side built a 7-5 advantage during the opening half before maintaining enough control after the switch to secure the map 13-10.

Starry and z4KR provided much of the firepower, giving FUT problems in opening engagements and forcing the European lineup into difficult recovery situations.

The result gave Lynn Vision a realistic opportunity to avoid another early Big Event exit. What followed, however, was a dramatic change in the balance of the series.

FUT completely dominate Anubis

FUT responded on their own pick with the most one-sided map of the match.

They raced into a 10-2 halftime lead on Anubis and gave Lynn Vision almost no opportunity to establish their economy or preferred pace.

Only one additional round went Lynn Vision’s way after halftime as FUT completed a 13-3 victory and forced the deciding Ancient.

The 13-3 response on Anubis completely reset the series and exposed the gap between FUT and Lynn Vision when the European side was able to dictate the tactical pace.

FUT’s ability to respond so convincingly after dropping the opener became especially important because Lynn Vision still had the strongest individual player in the server.

Starry produces huge numbers in defeat

Starry finished the series with 60 kills, 38 deaths, 104.6 ADR and a 1.69 HLTV Rating 3.0.

No FUT player matched his individual numbers.

Krabeni was FUT’s highest-rated player with a 1.36 rating, followed by xfl0ud at 1.26. dem0n also finished above a 1.00 rating and made several important plays during the deciding map.

The problem for Lynn Vision was the lack of support around Starry.

• xfl0ud: 44-36, 1.26 rating
• No other Lynn Vision player finished above a 1.00 rating

Westmelon came closest with a 0.96 rating, while z4KR finished at 0.94. EmiliaQAQ and C4LLM3SU3 both ended well below that mark.

That imbalance became increasingly difficult to overcome once FUT adjusted after Dust2.

Ancient exposes Lynn Vision’s conversion problems

Ancient initially provided Lynn Vision with another opportunity to make the series competitive.

Starry continued finding kills and helped his team create a number of opening advantages. At one point, Lynn Vision had won 14 of 18 opening duels while trailing 7-11.

The problem was what happened afterward.

Instead of consistently converting those 5v4 situations into stronger advantages, Lynn Vision frequently repeeked, lost trade battles or misplayed late-round scenarios. Only four of those opening advantages developed into 5v3 situations.

FUT repeatedly punished those mistakes.

dem0n was particularly important in matching Starry mechanically during key rounds, while FUT’s structure proved more reliable once the map entered its decisive stages.

They eventually closed Ancient 13-7 and completed the comeback.

Another early exit for Lynn Vision

The defeat means Lynn Vision leave another major international tournament in last place.

Their 2026 season has included flashes of potential but few complete best-of-three victories against strong international opposition. Their June win against Ninjas in Pyjamas remains their only notable international BO3 victory of the year.

BLAST Open Porto followed a familiar pattern.

Lynn Vision took a map from Falcons in their opening series and even established a 9-2 lead on the deciding Dust2 before losing 13-9. Against FUT, they again won the first map and created opportunities later in the series without converting them.

Those performances demonstrate that the mechanical level exists. Turning individual advantages into complete series victories remains the larger problem.

FUT stay alive in Porto

FUT now advance to face Inner Circle in the Group B lower-bracket semifinal.

The winner of that series moves into the lower final and remains in contention for one of the remaining BLAST Open Porto playoff places.

For FUT, avoiding elimination was especially important after their recent Esports World Cup Grand Final appearance established significantly higher expectations around the roster.

Assessment

Lynn Vision’s elimination is frustrating because this was not a series where they were completely outclassed from beginning to end.

Dust2 showed their potential, and Starry was comfortably the strongest individual player across all three maps. His 1.69 rating would normally provide an excellent foundation for winning a series.

The difference was consistency around him.

FUT had several players capable of contributing important rounds, while Lynn Vision became increasingly dependent on Starry producing something exceptional. Tactical mistakes and poor conversions on Ancient eventually made that imbalance impossible to overcome.

FUT survive and move forward, but Lynn Vision leave Porto with the same question that has followed them through several international events: how can they turn promising maps and strong individual performances into complete best-of-three victories?
