FURIA, the organization of the southern conference of the Americas, confirmed its first reinforcement for the 2025 season. In a Brazilian podcast called MD3, hosted by Thiago “Djoko” Maia, Tácio “Schaeppi” and Prieto, FURIA CEO Jaime revealed that the organization has finalized the hiring of Thinkcard, the 2023 LCS champion coach with NRG.
In the interview, Jaime spoke highly of the coach, highlighting his achievements: “Thinkcard is a guy who already has a lot of experience working with new talent. He had offers in the US and other regions, and he accepted the challenge of coming to work at FURIA next year. […] He’s a guy who fits the profile we’re looking for, he’s intelligent, strategic and has this pedigree of developing players, which is very important to us. We are very optimistic about creating the foundations for FURIA in LoL.”
FURIA currently has only three players on its roster
At the end of the last stage of the CBLOL, FURIA had major changes to its roster, terminating the contract with the South Korean duo that played on the team, Wiz and ZZK. Coach Westonway, also a foreigner, was also fired. To date, FURIA has only Tutsz (Mid Laner), Ayu (AD Carry) and JoJo (Support) on its roster.
Thinkcard is a former professional player, having competed professionally until 2016, when he put down the mouse and keyboard and decided to become a coach. He has played for Flyquest, Clutch Gaming, Dignitas and CLG.
In the second stage of 2023, NRG acquired CLG and Thinkcard continued to lead the team’s project. In this situation, he surprised everyone and beat Cloud9 in the grand final, winning the LCS title.
