Fragster Challenger CS2 EU Female Masters Cancelled

Fragster will not hold the planned Fragster Challenger CS2 EU Female Masters. The decisive factor is the low level of interest in the new league format. On the evening before the scheduled Open Qualifier, only twelve teams from Europe — including teams from Russia — had fully registered for the tournament.

With this project, Fragster aimed to provide the European female CS2 scene with a new competitive platform and to build a long-term sustainable tournament format. After evaluating the registrations, however, it became clear that current demand is not sufficient to implement a league of this scale in a sustainable way.

Only twelve teams registered for the Open Qualifier

For the Fragster Challenger CS2 EU Female Masters #1 Open Qualifier, only twelve complete team registrations were received on the eve of the tournament.

For the planned development of a league with an Open Qualifier, regular match days, and the corresponding organisational and production effort, this number of participants is too low.

Fragster has therefore decided not only to cancel the Open Qualifier, but also to discontinue the planned Female Masters format in its current form.

Effort and interest are not in proportion

Organising a league requires significant personnel, technical and financial resources. These include tournament administration, broadcasts, production, communication, and support for the participating teams.

At the current level of demand, these resources would not be in reasonable proportion to the actual participation.

Especially because the project was designed as a long-term undertaking from the start, economic and organisational sustainability plays a decisive role. Under the current conditions, this would not be given.

Fragster thanks the interested teams

The decision to cancel was not taken lightly. In particular, Fragster regrets this step towards the teams and players who registered for the competition and showed interest in the new format.

Fragster expressly thanks all teams that registered, supported the project, or planned to take part.

Whether an adapted competitive format for the female CS2 scene will be introduced at a later date is currently open.
