BadGuitarStudio is once again ready with another big chapter for FragPunk. The next Season 2 Chapter 2 update is shaping up to add exciting things into the game, from a new fighter joining the roster to another battleground, some extra shard cards, and even a new type of mode. Let’s take a look at them in detail.

FragPunk Season 2 Chapter 2: Release Date

As per what developers shared, the release of FragPunk Season 2 Chapter 2 is fixed for Thursday, August 21, 2025. Even though the specific launch timing is not exactly known, looking at earlier updates, it may arrive around 10 AM UTC. Gamers must also expect a short downtime, most likely two to three hours, when servers will stay offline before the patch becomes playable everywhere.

New Lancer: Ixchel

The biggest highlight with this update is clearly Ixchel, a Lancer who comes from Balamtok. She is designed for rushing forward and forcing enemies back, as her skills focus on shutting down utilities from the rival side. This gives her the power to deny zones to others and hold ground for her squad.

New Game Mode

Developers also teased a new game mode, but they did not provide full information yet. What they hinted at is that it will be economy-focused, something like what we have seen in Counter-Strike. This means matches might revolve more around how well teams handle resources in between rounds.

New Map: Toyland

Along with characters and modes, there is also a brand-new map called Toyland. The design of this arena will allow fresh strategies to come forward, making battles not only different but also adding some variety for players tired of older maps.

Several interesting Shard Cards are part of this chapter, too. Each of them adds unusual twists, which can change how a match plays out:

  • Heads & Toes – Damage maximum shifts from head to feet.
  • Speedrun – First Lancer reaching the end zone near spawn will straight win.
  • Gun Tune-Up – Inspecting your weapon gives it a temporary damage boost.
  • Pop Quiz – If someone kills you, they must answer a math question in 5 seconds. Fail, and they will die instantly.
