Event attendees will play on a new, limited-time Blitz map inspired by the Upside Down. This map features a corrupted, dark Hawkins with floating debris and tangled vines, and the Mind Flayer looking down from the sky. Blitz is a faster-paced mode with shorter matches that fits well with the eerie feeling of the Stranger Things world, so it adds intensity to moments and interactions.
Players will also find gameplay elements unique to the map, including themed boons and medallions that work well with strategy during combat. These features try to incorporate Fortnite’s battle royale mechanics amid the feeling of the paranormal from the show to give players something new to experience in gameplay, while also being familiar to seasoned players.

The event will feature new skins, including an Upside Down Peely modeled after Eddie Munson. This skin is recognizable to Stranger Things fans. Epic has not officially confirmed all character cosmetics; however, there are strong suggestions that members of the main cast ,Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will, could all be available as cosmetics. There will also be additional back blings, pickaxes, and emotes based on iconic moments from Stranger Things in the game and available in the Item Shop as part of the event.
