Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, titled Shock ‘N Awesome, dropped on August 7, 2025. The season received a bug-invasion theme, new map locations, a Power Rangers event, and some Halo themed content. There are additional gameplay mechanics these days, such as medallions, specialist recruits, plus powerful Mythic weapons which have a significant impact on the way the match is playing out.
NPC System and General Offers
There are 18 regular NPCs on the island; some are new, and some are returning. Their services are based upon your O.X.R. Military Rank.
- O.X.R. Patch Up (healing) – this is available to players Rank B and higher.
- Rift travel – this is available to Rank A players.

Hireable Specialist NPCs
You are able to hire Specialists for 600 Gold Bars. All have a job that assists in various phases of the match:
- Cuddle Team Leader – Medic Specialist at Shiny Shafts
- Meowscles – Heavy Specialist at Shiny Shafts
- Peely – Supply Specialist at First Order Base
- Triggerfish – Scout Specialist at Swarmy Stash
Boss NPCs and Queen Bugs
This season also introduces three Queen bug bosses that remain in unique POIs. After defeating them, they drop Mythic weapons and unique medallions.
The Hive
- Reward: Surge Medallion – provides increased movement speed and quicker sliding burst
- Weapon: Mythic Enhanced Wrecker Revolver
Ranger’s Ruin
- Reward: Carapace Medallion – restores health during eliminating and causes shield to regenerate over time
- Weapon: Mythic Sweeper Shotgun
Demon’s Domain (or Demon’s Debris)
- Reward: Springleg Medallion – allows you to double jump and not suffer fall damage
- Weapon: Mythic OXR Assault Rifle
If you do carry medallions, your position will be displayed on enemy minimaps, so it’s not advisable.
Map Changes and POIs

The v37.00 update has brought a lot of new POIs that are related to the NPC system:
- O.X.R. HQ, The Hive, Ranger’s Ruin, Swarmy Stash, Demon’s Debris
- Map now includes Hive Stashes, O.X.R. bases, Reboot Towers, and Capture Points, which add more places to fight and acquire resources.

In Chapter 6, Season 4, NPCs are no longer simply traders – they provide healing, fast travel, and heavy combat assistance. Specialists provide additional support or damage, and Queen bug bosses are a risky but rewarding means of gaining medallions and Mythic weapons that can turn around the late game. Knowing NPC locations is now a key step in winning matches this season.
