While Fnatic have secured Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg for the Pinnacle Cup Championship, Evil Geniuses is also competing with a new lineup. Both teams have recently recruited new players in the hope to perform well at the $250,000 event.

Fnatic have announced that the 33-year-old Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg will fill in for the team at the Pinnacle Cup Championship, which started today. This is not the first time the Swedish player will play with Fnatic, as he already played for the organization in Counter-Strike 1.6 between 2006 and 2010.

f0rest returns to Fnatic for Pinnacle Cup Championship

Fnatic’s Chief Gaming Officer Patrik “cArn” Sättermon announced on Tuesday that a player who was supposed to fill in for the team at the Pinnacle Cup Championship has fallen ill. As a result, Dignitas’ f0rest was brought back from retirement to help out Fnatic compete at the event.

F0rest has been a well-known player in the professional Counter-Strike scene since CS 1.6, having played at the top level for many years. During his time with Ninjas in Pajamas between 2012 and 2020, he helped the team win multiple tournaments, as well as one Major, and was a key part of the team’s legendary 87-0 LAN winning streak.

He signed with Dignitas at the beginning of 2020 and after two years, he was placed on the team’s inactive roster, following the organization’s decision to restructure after failing to qualify for this year’s PGL Major Antwerp.

Fnatic line-up

Fnatic has also recently added two new players to the line-up Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi and Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgense, who transferred from the Copenhagen Flames, after the organization decided to rebuild its CS:GO roster completely. The fifth permanent team member is yet to be announced by Fnatic.

Here’s the Fnatic line-up for the Pinnacle Cup Championship:

  • Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg
  • Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen
  • Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
  • Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi
  • William Merriman
  • Jamie “keita” Hall (Coach)

Evil Geniuses attend with new roster

Evil Geniuses are competing at the Pinnacle Cup Championship with the new line-up, previously known as Party Astronauts, under the EG.PA banner. The roster was acquired early in June along with the former Carpe Diem line-up as a part of Evil Geniuses’ Blueprint project, which seeks to create a “fluid”, 15-player CS:GO roster for 2023. Until then, the three EG teams will participate as separate entities in different tournaments.

EG.PA start at the Pinnacle Cup Championship in Group B with Astralis, Imperial and Finest. Only two teams from each group will advance to the double-elimination best-of-three playoffs.

EG.PA consists of the following players:

  • Josh “PwnAlone” Pigue
  • Wesley “viz” Harris
  • Jonathan “djay” Dallal
  • Ben “ben1337” Smith
  • Jonathan “Jonji” Carey
  • Joseph “Muenster” Lima (Coach)
