Fnatic has also entered the Fighting Game Community with its own Tekken 8 signup.
The organization has announced the signing of Park “Mangja” Geon-ho, a 34-year-old Tekken veteran from South Korea. This is the first time the organization has ventured into the Tekken competitive scene.
“We’ll be entering Tekken alongside Gunho ‘Mangja’ Park (also known as Malgu), who will be representing the Black and Orange at the very highest level of the titles’ pro scene. Mangja is an extremely accomplished player who we’ve had eyes on for a while – watching as he impressed not just us but the entire world,” Fnatic said in its announcement.
The black and orange also described Mangja as a player “who has made an unforgettable name for himself in the last few years across multiple iterations of Tekken, and a player perfectly suited for Fnatic.”
Fnatic also revealed that they met Mangja in South Korea.
“This collaboration allows us to support his journey forward as a professional and gives us a great opportunity to contribute to the Tekken scene and community, taking new steps towards fostering our fanbase in South Korea. We’re fired up to get to work alongside him, and even more fired up to see him in action,” Fnatic said in its statement.
Briefly addressing the news, Mangja took to X (formerly known as Twitter).
“This time, I had a great opportunity to join Fnatic. I will work hard to achieve good results at this year’s TWT and e-Sports World Cup. thank you,” Mangja simply said.
Mangja recently placed 4th in EVO Japan and has been a staple of the AfreecaTV Tekken tournaments.
This move is one of the more recent entries of Fnatic to different esports, the most recent being their entry into Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
