ESL Pro League Season 16’s Group B got off to a thrilling start as fan favorites teams commanded the stage with stellar performances.

FaZe, Outsider, and G2 are off to a strong start at ESL Pro League Season 16. All three teams are still unbeaten, with G2 securing straight games and a playoff spot while Faze and Outsider each brought home two victories. However, one of them will undoubtedly encounter their first back as FaZe and Outsider face off today in the third round of Group B. Both the teams are squabbling tooth and nail for second place in Group B, with the score tied at 1-1 as of this writing.

G2’s undefeated record takes them to the playoff

In the third round of Group B of the ESL Pro League Season 16, G2 trounced the Portuguese CS:GO side FTW 2-0 to become the first team in the group to secure a playoff spot. The underdog team failed to pose any significant threat to G2 during the entire series, making the match appear entirely lopsided. Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen’s tactics and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov’s merciless firepower effectively provided G2 the edge over the Portuguese squad. 

The team quickly ended the series with a 16-6 victory on Ancient after effortlessly dispatching FTW on Inferno with a score of 16-5. With a 1.55 rating and a 46-24 K/D, M0NESY emerged as the game’s highest-rated player after putting on excellent performances on both maps. Before defeating FTW, the team conquered MIBR and BIG with a 2-0 score, remaining undefeated so far.

FaZe remains undefeated

FaZe crushed MIBR 2-1 to earn their second victory of ESL Pro League Season 16. The deadly MIBR lineup initially stunned the Europeans on the first map of the best-of-three series. The highly regarded international squad of FaZe was no match for Breno “brnz4n” Poletto’s exceptional performance on Dust2.

Despite suffering an early defeat, FaZe was able to bounce back and win the series with strong showings on Nuke and Overpass. Robin “ropz” Kool, the standout rifler for FaZe, stood up for the squad, amassing a total of 60 kills across the three maps while only compromising 35 fatalities. FaZe defeated FTW 2-0 in their opening game, and following their most recent victory over MIBR, they now hold the second position with a 2-0 record.

Outsider overwhelm FTW to go 2-0

Outsider claimed their second ESL Pro League Season 16 victory, defeating FTW in the as Throughout the series, the Portuguese team was unable to counter Outsiders’ exceptional defense. The team came out firing on Vertigo, smashing FTW back and forth before ultimately closing it with a 16-8 victory. FTW, however, put up a fight on the second map and gained an early 5-1 lead behind Renato “⁠stadodo⁠” Gonçalves and André “⁠Ag1l⁠” Gil’s site defenses. The 21-year-old, FL1T stepped up for his team again and wrapped up the map 16-10 before FTW could mount any comeback attempt. Continuing his exceptional performance, FL1T closed the series with a whopping 59 kills and a 1.81 rating.
