With the ALGS Split 2 kicking off in all regions of the world between March 11 and 12, many teams finalized their lineups just a few days beforehand. However, the popular organization, FaZe Clan, revealed its Apex lineup on Thursday, just two days before the start of the tournament.

As expected, FaZe Clan’s lineup for this Split 2 revolves around Eric “Snip3down” Wrona, team captain and the only one remaining from the previous roster.

FaZe Clan reveals its Apex Legends lineup for the ALGS Split 2

FaZe Clan took their time to select who would be on their team for the ALGS Split 2, and as mentioned, they built this new lineup around Snip3down. The new players on the team are Josue Daniel “Phony” Ruiz, who will be the team’s IGL, and Joseph “Frexs” Sanchez.

Frexs comes to FaZe from Spacestation Gaming, a team that has disbanded in recent months. While Phony was part of the Esports Arena lineup. There is no doubt that this pair of veteran and experienced players has much to offer to this Apex Legends lineup.

With this announcement, the team closes its roster and is now ready to compete in the tournament starting in the next few hours.

FaZe signs two players to their content creator division and raises concerns

After announcing their official Apex lineup for the ALGS Split 2, the organization’s content creator Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, who has been working for FaZe since 2019, announced on his Twitter the addition of Rigo “Gent” Padilla and Deeds. These two personalities were hired as official content creators for the organization.

The controversy starts at this point, as both Gent and Deeds are part of Tripods, a team that also plays in the ALGS Pro League. As a result, FaZe Clan would now have two teams in the North American Apex Legends circuit.

About Tripods

Tripods are a team created in March 2022 and featured Deeds, NICKMERCS, and Nathan “Lewda” Dias in the previous season. First, the team participated in different events in the Challengers division of the ALGS. Then, thanks to their extraordinary results, the team got an invitation to join the top tier of the Apex circuit.

Before Split 1, Tripods announced Gent would replace Lewda for the 2023 season. The team had results that could be considered good, as they finished in tenth place in the first round of the Pro League and then took 18th place in Split 1. Although the team was out of the playoffs, they managed to keep their place in Split 2.

However, the controversy of these signings revolves around the official ALGS rules, which state that several teams cannot represent the same organization. Consequently, this could bring some problems for the organization itself.

Tripods players, now fully affiliated with FaZe, will have to remove their team name from their names to be allowed to compete in the ALGS Split 2.
