The Counter-Strike 2 era is underway, and all teams are dreaming of writing their name in the first pages of the new game’s history books.

IEM Sydney is the first Level 1 event to be played in CS2, so everything the teams are doing for several days now is history for Valve’s shooter. However, there are some records that many teams would like to achieve, and few will be able to do it.

In this opportunity, FaZe Clan implanted the first important record within CS2 since they completed the first 13-0 in the Quarterfinals series against ENCE. This, without a doubt, is an excellent reason to celebrate, as it is the first resounding victory in the history of CS2 and, in addition, they did it against ENCE, team #2 in the Counter-Strike World Ranking which is at an exceptional level of play.

FaZe Clan destroyed ENCE in the IEM Sydney Quarterfinals

While it is true that FaZe is currently playing for the ticket to the tournament’s Grand Final against MOUZ, in the quarterfinals, we witnessed a beating by FaZe against ENCE. Moreover, we say it was a thrashing because the first map ended 13-5 and the second 13-0, giving us the fastest series in a CS2 LAN tournament.

Similarly, it is also worth mentioning that FaZe did not come into this IEM Sydney as a favorite, as the team has shown a lot of problems in the last few changeovers. However, everything seems to indicate that the new game went well for Finn “karrigan” Andersen, who, with his experience and great talent, has taken the team by the hand in this tournament.

In addition, FaZe left teams like Team Vitality and now ENCE on the road with a 13-0 in the series, which shows that they are more than ready to fight and win the title of champions at the beginning of the CS2 era.

Likewise, there is another important point to highlight. And what is most surprising is that the 13-0 achieved by FaZe was in Anubis, ENCE’s map pick in this series. In addition, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken won the MVP in this series by achieving impressive statistics of 103.6 ADR and a 1.79 Rating.

Rebirth of FaZe Clan

From what we have seen in this IEM Sydney 2023, everything seems to indicate that it is a rebirth for this FaZe Clan that, as we can remember, won the Intel Grand Slam at the beginning of 2023. Also, it is worth noting that this international squad had lost the last 3 matches they played against ENCE in CS:GO before the start of this tournament in Australia.

This 13-0 victory can help this team reach their peak again and, above all, be a force to be reckoned with at the beginning of the CS2 era. In addition, the team just took a solid 2-0 win over MOUZ to qualify for the IEM Sydney 2023 Grand Final.
