Movements continue in the different lineups of the CS:GO competitive scene because, after several events played this year, teams want to make changes to get better results.

One of them is the Copenhagen Flames, which have announced the return to the lineup of Asger “farlig” Jensen after two years. Farlig was part of this organization in the past, and now he is back to show that his level of play is much better than before.

Copenhagen Flames signs farlig

After the team’s disappointing results during the European RMR qualifiers for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, the Danes have decided to include farlig in the lineup instead of Iulian “regali” Harjău.

The debut of farlig with the Copenhagen Flames, for as the publication says, only 10 minutes later, the player had to debut in the BetBoom Playlist Urbanistic against Aurora. Despite all the expectations this signing created, the team was defeated in this match with a 0-2.

However, farlig showed all his excellent qualities with the AWP to finish with a rating of 1.24 and a K/D much higher than any other player on the server. Due to this performance, the player left a good taste in his mouth, despite the bitter defeat suffered by the team.

About farlig

As we know, farlig became known mainly at the beginning of 2022, when he signed with Astralis, the most important esports organization in Denmark. Unfortunately, however, farlig’s stint at Astralis did not go as the player would have dreamed, as he failed to perform adequately during one year with the team.

Throughout 2022, farlig performed worryingly poorly and averaged only a 0.99 rating for the season. Astralis, in general, did not have a good year, there is no doubt about that, but farlig did not live up to expectations and was the main culprit in this bad streak.

Despite all this, Astralis succeeded in lower-level tournaments such as the Roobet Cup and the Pinnacle Cup Championship. In addition, the team was also able to finish in the TOP 4 of the IEM Cologne 2022.

However, this was not enough, and Astralis decided to replace the young Dane with Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz. This happened last October when one of the best players in CS:GO history, dev1ce, announced his return to the servers.

From that moment on, farlig was in free agency until last March 13, when his former home, the Copenhagen Flames, brought him back.

This change is somewhat confusing

There is no doubt that many in the community may be very confused after this change, as Regali is one of the most promising AWPers on the scene. Furthermore, the player was arguably the best on the team, with an average rating of 1.20, according to HLTV. Consequently, eliminating the Copenhagen Flames in the RMR qualifiers has disappointed the team greatly.

The Copenhagen Flames had had an excellent year before the RMR qualifiers. The team had managed to win different tournaments organized online, and it was expected that the team would at least be one of the qualifiers for the European RMR.

Philip Karsbøl, the head of esports at Copenhagen Flames, mentioned in the official statement that adding farlig is a necessary change to the lineup for the remainder of the season. According to Karsbøl, the signing of farlig comes “so that the team can fulfill its goals and maximize the potential of the entire lineup.”
