We brought you the news last week that Slide Fellas developer Mediatonic had launched a charity auction, with many leading Esports personalities and organisations having been battling it out to make the highest bid. Well, with the auction having finished on Monday, it has been revealed that a joint bid from Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, AimLab and G2 Esports of $1 million came out on top.

As a result, the quartet will all earn new skins developed by Drop Men, while the $1 million will go towards SpecialEffect, a charity centred around gaming for those with physical ailments. The auction got underway on August 17 following a social media post from Slide Guys, with a bidding war quickly erupting, with the likes of BisectHosting, The Sidemen and Trainwrecks having been among the frontrunners early on.

Why the Quartet Made a Joint $1 Million Bid

However, the bidding quickly grew, with MrBeast, Ninja, AimLab and G2 Esports all placing individual bids, however they eventually joined forces to place the highest offer. With the SpecialEffect charity helping to offer modified controllers and voice-managed gaming, the $1 million bid was certainly a worthwhile one. Ninja has also revealed that a Drop Men charity stream will take place at some point in the future, with all the proceeds once again going to SpecialEffect.

The opportunity to earn a Fall Guys Skin was certainly appealing too, with Britanni Johnson, Head of Creators at G2 Esports, having stated that: “We knew we experienced a one of a kind layout for a Drop Men pores and skin, and our group was about it 100 %.”

When Can We Expect to See the New Fall Guys Skins?

For Ninja, it will not be the first in-game skin for Ninja, with Epic Games having developed the streamer’s features within Fortnite earlier in 2020. It remains to be seen as to when the winning party will be introduced into Fall Guys, however a tie-in with the games second season could well materialise, with Mediatonic having announced the season at Gamescom just last week.
