Falcons have secured their place in the BLAST Open Porto 2026 playoffs after defeating Legacy 2-1 in the Group B upper-bracket semifinal.
The result also ends a frustrating run against the Brazilian-majority lineup. Falcons had lost their previous two meetings with Legacy, including the CAC Grand Final and the recent Esports World Cup quarterfinal. This time, they took Mirage 13-6, dropped Ancient 10-13 and then dominated Dust2 13-6 to guarantee a top-six finish at the event.
Falcons strike first on Mirage
Legacy selected Mirage but struggled to establish control after the opening stages.
Falcons built an 8-4 halftime advantage and continued to dictate the pace after changing sides. Legacy managed only two additional rounds before Falcons closed the map 13-6.
The scoreline looked comfortable, although Falcons still produced several mistakes that could have become costly. They lost a 5v2 situation during the map, but unlike in some recent matches, those setbacks did not develop into a full collapse.

The opening map immediately placed pressure on Legacy, who had defeated Falcons 2-0 at the Esports World Cup only days earlier.
Legacy answer on Ancient
Falcons selected Ancient, but Legacy produced their strongest performance of the series.
Falcons still entered halftime ahead 7-5, but the second half changed the momentum. Legacy won eight CT-side rounds and closed the map 13-10, forcing a Dust2 decider.
Legacy’s recovery included several impressive clutch moments. latto completed a 1v2 that finished off a 2v5 comeback, while n1ssim repeatedly delivered in difficult late-round situations.
The map was also the weakest individual showing of the series for kyousuke, who finished Ancient with a 6-20 kill-death record.
Instead of allowing that performance to affect the decider, kyousuke completely reset on Dust2 and became one of Falcons’ most important players.

zonic timeout changes the Dust2 decider
Dust2 initially looked dangerous for Falcons.
Legacy moved ahead 4-1 after winning a 5v3 situation, forcing coach zonic to call a timeout. His message was simple: reset.
Falcons responded immediately.
m0NESY began finding repeated openings, while kyousuke recovered dramatically from his difficult Ancient. By halftime, Falcons had brought the map back to 6-6.
The second half then became completely one-sided.

Legacy won only two additional rounds across the rest of the series after Falcons’ early Dust2 timeout.
m0NESY dominates the series
m0NESY was comfortably the standout performer.
The Falcons AWPer finished with 56 kills, 29 deaths, 89.2 ADR and a 1.56 HLTV Rating 3.0 across the three maps. He also produced one of the decisive moments of Dust2 with a 1v3 clutch that effectively ended Legacy’s attempt to regain momentum.
kyousuke finished second for Falcons with a 1.32 rating despite his difficult Ancient, while NiKo contributed a 1.22 rating.
The contrast on Legacy was significant.
latto led the team with a 1.06 rating, while dumau followed at 1.04. try, who had been one of Legacy’s most important players during their recent rise, struggled throughout the series and finished with a 0.88 rating.
That reduction in AWP impact made it considerably harder for Legacy to challenge m0NESY.
Falcons get revenge after two Legacy defeats
The result carries additional significance because Legacy had become something of a problem opponent for Falcons.
The Brazilian-majority lineup defeated them in the CAC Grand Final and then eliminated them 2-0 from the Esports World Cup quarterfinals.
Falcons therefore entered the Porto meeting with more at stake than simply playoff qualification.
Their opening match against Lynn Vision had also raised concerns after Falcons needed a comeback from 2-9 down on Dust2 to survive the series 2-1.
Beating Legacy provides a much stronger response.
MOUZ await Falcons in Group B
Falcons become the fourth team to qualify for the Porto playoffs.
Their next Group B match is against MOUZ on August 31, with seeding for the knockout stage still to be decided. Legacy, meanwhile, drop into the lower bracket and face Vitality in an elimination match.
That leaves Legacy with a much less forgiving path after missing their first opportunity to qualify directly.
Assessment
Falcons’ victory matters because it addresses two recent weaknesses at once.
They finally defeated a Legacy roster that had beaten them twice in important matches, and they showed enough composure to recover when Dust2 began badly.
m0NESY’s 1.56 rating was the clearest individual difference, but kyousuke’s ability to rebound from a 6-20 Ancient was nearly as important. Falcons did not allow one poor map or an early Dust2 deficit to derail the series.
Legacy remain dangerous, but try’s quiet performance removed one of the advantages that had helped them in previous meetings.
Falcons are now guaranteed a place in Porto. The next question is whether this result represents a genuine return to stable form or simply another high point in an inconsistent post-Major period.
