Faker has been with his team T1 for quite a long time. Even several big offers worth millions of dollars have not been able to poach the player. Now it came to light that one of those offers was a contract worth 20 million. 20 million dollar offer rejected The CEO of T1, Joe Marsh recently revealed that League of Legends top player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok declined a $20 million yearly contract with a Chinese team to stay with T1.

Faker turned down impressive offer

If you look at League of Legends, the 25-year-old Faker is one of the most famous and successful pro players of all time, and hardly any other player comes even close to the things he achieved. Faker is a three times Worlds Champion, the most important tournament in LoL. Faker has been at T1 for 9 years and will celebrate his 10th anniversary next year.

After an impressive flawless 2022 Spring Split run, Faker has now reached 10 LCK titles with his team T1. The CEO of T1 explained in a podcast a few days ago that Faker received a $20 million contract offer to join a team in the Chinese league, but he declined the offer.

Money is no motivation for Faker

During Doublelift’s April 6 podcast, the T1 CEO talked about how important it was to build a relationship with Faker’s family and Faker himself. They also talked about the 2021 postseason, when Faker was a free agent for some time before he signed with T1 again. “He doesn’t need money. He has money, he’s super successful and he’s invested a lot in Korea,” Marsh explained.

“There’s a building he owns, Faker Tower, and that’s worth a lot of money.” “He’s done very well financially. It’s all about where he thinks he can compete the most and win.” And that’s not all. Apparently, offers keep fluttering into the young professional player’s door.

The CEO explained that the player was getting groundbreaking offers in his free agency, “He’s always getting offers, even this season I had to fly to Korea after free agency started because he was a free agent and every time he’s a free agent there’s an offer from China. It’s about $20 million a year.”

Faker certainly didn’t regret staying with his team after they had a perfect LCK Spring Split and put on one flawless performance after another. T1, along with Faker, will be going all out to win his third MSI title at the Mid-Season Invitational in Busan, South Korea. From the looks of it, he has no plans to leave his team anytime soon either.
