Every season, we will hear rumors about the salary and possible offers that come to a legendary player in the League of Legends scene, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok.

A few hours ago, the South Korean player’s name was back on some websites and social networks, as it seems that the player would have rejected approximately 26 billion won, almost $20M.

Faker reportedly rejected $20M from the LPL

According to rumors in recent hours on social networks, Korean League of Legends star Faker has reportedly rejected an offer of €18.5M from the LPL, the top tier of Chinese LoL.

However, this is not the first time Faker would receive a million-dollar proposal. Since 2015, 2018, and 2021, there has also been a lot of talk about possible million-dollar figures that the LPL and LCS would have offered to the League of Legends legend. Moreover, the idea is not entirely far-fetched because who would not like to have the one considered the best player in the history of Riot’s MOBA?

Faker shows his loyalty to the jersey

As we mentioned, this is not the first time in his career that these rumors have come to light, and they are more than rumors, as official personalities have confirmed these signing attempts. For example, a few months ago, T1 CEO Joe Marsh and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and Nick “LS” De Cesare confirmed it in a podcast.

However, Faker has turned down every offer that has come his way, regardless of the amount or where it came from. T1’s esports project is one of the most ambitious in the esports scene, as they aspire to qualify for events such as the MSI and Worlds 2023 and win them. In addition, it should be noted that Faker has mentioned on many occasions that his dream is to win the Worlds 2023 with the club of his love, T1.

This is not to say that T1 has not made a very lucrative financial proposal for Faker, as we do not doubt it is done. However, the exact figures of his contract are unknown, which, according to the player himself, cannot be disclosed. On the other hand, what is public knowledge is that Faker owns a small part of T1. In addition, he also has the option to obtain 5.66% of T1’s shares.

What is clear is that Faker does not want to leave T1, no matter where the offer comes from or the offer amount. The player only wants to lift an international championship trophy again with T1.

The midlaner still has a lot to say and do in the Summoner’s Rift, and this year 2023, can be key in his career.
