With only three games left to play in the LEC Spring Split 2023, one of the teams that have not yet been able to display its best level of play since the beginning of the season, EXCEL Esports, announces its second change in its lineup in less than three days. This time, we refer to assistant coach Sng “Nelson” Yi Wei, who is parting ways with the organization after one year.

There is no doubt that many teams want to have the best performance in each of the tournaments they participate in, and if that means making changes on the fly, they will not hesitate to do so. EXCEL has been a sample of this because after a player changed a few days ago, it now announces the departure of one of its coaches.

EXCEL Esports announces the departure of its assistant coach Nelson

In the last few hours, the EXCEL Esports organization announced through its Twitter account the departure of Sng “Nelson” Yi Wei, its assistant coach, before the start of the last week of the Split.

As we mentioned, Nelson left the organization after one year in the position, as let’s remember that he joined in January 2022. There is no doubt that this move, as well as the other one made recently, comes after a terrible start for EXCEL in the Spring Split, as right now, they are tied for last place with a 2-4 record.

On the other hand, it should also be noted that EXCEL had a dreadful Winter Split. As a result, the team finished in last place in the regular season managing only one win. Therefore, while it is true that this team may qualify for the Group Stage of the Spring Split, as they still have to play for their lives in the last three games, the organization is thinking ahead.

Abbedagge: Last-minute addition

As mentioned in a previous article, EXCEL Esports changed their lineup a few days ago after Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié parted ways with the main lineup citing mental health issues.

In his place enters the experienced Felix “Abbedagge” Braun; we will remember him playing under the 100 Thieves banner in the LCS two seasons ago.

Now, with a new teammate and without their assistant coach, the EXCEL Esports guys have to play closer than ever to achieve good results in these three days and get their ticket to the Group Stage of the LEC Spring Split.

EXCEL esports has a somewhat accessible schedule for this last week of the Split. But they will have to face KOI and Astralis, two direct rivals. However, they could secure their place in the next phase if they get victories. In addition to these two teams, EXCEL has to face Team BDS, one of the most surprising teams this season.
