The Evolution Championship Series (EVO), the world’s largest fighting game esports event, has revealed plans to host an edition in France in 2025.
This marks the first time EVO will hold a large-scale event in Europe.
Expanding EVO’s Global Reach
EVO France is set to take place in Nice from October 10th to 12th, 2025. Known for its grand-scale events featuring thousands of competitors across multiple fighting games, EVO’s expansion into Europe signifies a major milestone for the tournament series.
Historically, EVO has been synonymous with its events in Nevada, USA, but it has also hosted tournaments in other American cities and internationally, including Los Angeles and Tokyo. The 2025 EVO calendar will continue this trend, with events scheduled for Tokyo (May 9th-11th) and Las Vegas (August 1st-3rd). Additionally, EVO will host an awards show in Los Angeles in February, titled EVO Awards, sponsored by Qiddiya, a Saudi Arabian entertainment infrastructure project.
Alongside the announcement of EVO France, EVO revealed plans to hold a significant event in Singapore in 2026. These expansions underscore EVO’s commitment to growing the fighting game community (FGC) globally.
EVO France: What to Expect
Although the announcement of EVO France provided limited details beyond the dates and location, it represents a significant step for EVO in Europe. Previously, the company organized smaller-scale “Road to EVO” competitions across the continent, but this will be the first major EVO competition and expo in Europe.
The news was unveiled during EVO Las Vegas, which concluded recently. The 2023 edition of EVO Las Vegas saw an 80% increase in participation compared to the previous year, highlighting the rapid growth and enthusiasm within the FGC.
EVO France 2025 is poised to be a landmark event, bringing the excitement and competitive spirit of the Evolution Championship Series to a new audience in Europe.
