With the departure of top laner Jeong “Impact” Eon-young and the reported addition of Victor “FBI” Huang to fill the AD carry role, the North American organization Evil Geniuses has made the LCS off-season more exciting.

With less than two weeks until free agency begins, it looks like the LCS offseason is just getting more exciting. In the past few days, 100 Thieves, Dignitas, Team Liquid, and Fly Quest have been in the headlines with reported roster changes. This week, it’s Evil Geniuses’ turn to captivate audiences with some exciting roster moves. The organization has officially parted ways with its top laner, while also reportedly adding notable names to the roster for the upcoming season.

EG parts ways with the top laner Impact

One of the most consistent LCS top laner Jeong “Impact” Eon-young has officially parted ways with Evil Geniuses after spending two successful years with the North American organization. The team had a productive year with the renowned top laner, who assisted them in winning the LCS Spring 2022 championship and qualifying for the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, where they placed in the top four.

Even though EG’s performance declined in the second half of the season, they were still able to qualify for the 2022 Worlds with a third-place finish in the 2022 LCS Summer Split. However, now that the organization is planning to rebuild its roster ahead of the new season, Impact has to find a new home during the free agency period. Reports indicate that the top laner has reached an agreement with FlyQuest, where he will likely replace Philip “Philip” Zeng. As there has been no formal word from Impact regarding his future plans, it is most probable that he will hold off until the start of the free agency period.

EG is set to acquire Victor “FBI” Huang from 100 Thieves

EG is in severe need of a new ADC as their starting AD carry, Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, and their interim AD carry Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk are reportedly departing the organization. According to a report from Dot Esports, Evil Geniuses and Victor “FBI” Huang have apparently reached an agreement. FBI will reportedly replace superstar Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki as the starting marksman in 2023.

FBI, who has been a part of 100 Thieves for the last two years, has quickly become one of the best ADCs in the region with extraordinary performance against top-tier teams. The 23-year-old was arguably the best performer for 100T, sitting at the top of the league throughout the 2022 LCS season. The AD carry racked up the second-most kills during the LCS Summer and the fifth-most kills during the LCS Spring Split, according to Oracle’s Elixir.

Evil Geniuses reported the LCS roster:

  • Kacper “Inspired” Słoma
  • Joseph “Jojopyun” Joon Pyun
  • Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk
  • Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki
  • Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme
  • Victor “FBI” Huang
