Eternal Fire and Spirit are first eliminated from Roobet Cup 2023

The Roobet Cup 2023 is in full swing, and the teams are playing their Group Stage matches to score victories that will allow them to stay alive. However, in Group A and B, we already know the first two eliminated teams, Eternal Fire and Team Spirit.

This is somewhat unexpected news, considering that neither of the two groups was complicated to qualify for the next phase. However, Eternal Fire lost to FURIA and Aurora, while Spirit could not defeat Virtus.pro and 9z Team.

In the next few hours, we will know the two eliminated teams from Groups C and D and other teams that have qualified for the playoffs. Likewise, it is worth noting that FURIA beat Heroic to secure their ticket to the next phase, while VP did the same with Movistar Riders.

Aurora apply a reverse sweep against Eternal Fire

The Turkish squad started on the right foot by winning the first map of their elimination series against Aurora. However, Aurora woke up and won maps 2 and 3 to seal the victory and stay alive in the tournament.

It all started on Ancient, Aurora’s map pick, where the Turkish squad stepped up to take an excellent victory and start the series very well. However, the match was even in the first half, ending with a partial score of 2-2. Finally, the Turks deployed a lethal offense to take the victory by 13-9 at the change of sides.

Then, the teams moved to Anubis, Eternal Fire’s map pick, where Aurora took revenge and evened the series 1-1. In the first half, Eternal Fire started on their T Side very well to take a 7-5 partial victory. However, Aurora made a spectacular comeback to take the victory by 13-10 at the change of sides.

Finally, Overpass was the stage that saw Aurora complete the reverse sweep to stay alive in the tournament. In the first half, Aurora’s CT Side avoided EF’s approaches and took the victory by 8-4. Finally, at the change of sides, after 7 rounds (5-2), Aurora took the 13-6 victory to eliminate Eternal Fire from the tournament.

9z Team crush Spirit and stays alive in the Roobet Cup 2023

Spirit started as favorites against the South American squad. However, 9z had a phenomenal display to crush Spirit and take the 2-1 victory. Although Spirit won 1 map, 9z’s two victories were solid and decisive.

It all started in Mirage, Spirit’s map pick, where 9z started to show their high level of play from the first half, where they took a 9-3 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, Spirit could not do anything and ended up losing the map by 4-13.

On the second map, Nuke, things changed radically, as Spirit, on the 9z map pick, managed to hit back quickly to even the series 1-1. Contrary to the first map, on Nuke, Spirit took an excellent partial victory in the first half on their CT Side by 9-3. Finally, the Russian squad won the first 4 rounds at the change of sides to seal the victory by 13-3.

In the third and last map, Anubis, we had a replica of what happened in Mirage since 9z started the map on its CT Side, winning the first half by 9-3. Finally, at the change of sides, after 5 rounds, they won by 13-4 to eliminate the Russians from the Roobet Cup 2023.
