Team Liquid has returned to EA FC esports with the announcement of its partnership with Team Gullit.

In a statement posted on its website, Team Liquid said, “We are honored to be entering into this strategic partnership with another world-class Dutch organization. This new collaboration will unlock great business opportunities for both brands locally while maintaining the current trend of winning global titles. EA FC is an exciting title and there is great synergy with us having the reigning FIFAe World Cup champion right next door.”

Team Liquid founder and co-CEO said of the partnership, “We’re excited to welcome Team Gullit into the Team Liquid organization. I am especially eager to see how we can use our facilities and resources to elevate EA FC’s most forward thinking team and enhance Dutch esports’ standing on the global stage.”

For its part, Team Gullit founder Corne Dubelaar said, “We are delighted to start this partnership with Team Liquid. Our focus on development has led us to become the world’s best EA FC team, but the ecosystem is changing, and we want to stay on top. A partnership with Team Liquid can help us achieve that goal. Their years of experience across many esports titles and their unparalleled infrastructure will be a considerable boost.”

Team Liquid previously competed in FIFA esports in 2017 and 2018, represented by Lasse ‘Kongen’ Bækkelund. While not a major name in EA FC, Team Liquid has a strong presence in other esports titles such as CS2, Dota 2, and fighting games. Founded in 2000, the organization has expanded globally, with teams in Europe, North and South America, and Asia, establishing itself as a well-respected brand in the esports community.

Team Gullit, the current reigning World Champions, gained prominence after Manuel ‘Manuel’ Bachoore’s victory at the FIFAe World Cup. Known as the first independent EA FC academy, Team Gullit focuses on nurturing talent and currently boasts seven active players along with a coach. The team’s commitment to developing players has solidified its reputation in the competitive FIFA esports scene.

Team Liquid is one of 30 teams selected for the Esports World Cup Club Support Program, which gives teams a one-time six-figure stipend if an organization is willing to enter new esports as well as additional funding each year if they drive viewership and fan engagement to the Esports World Cup.

“The Club Support Program is critical to the EWC Foundation’s vision of building a stronger esports ecosystem and elevating esports as global sports,” Esports World Cup foundation CEO Ralf Reichert earlier said.

‍Team Liquid and Team Gullit will field their EA FC team under a joint banner at the Esports World Cup.
