Candadian esports organization Gaimin Gladiators has decided to enter two new esport titles in Overwatch 2 and Fortnite.
Gaimin Gladiators’s roster for Overwatch was revealed via social media pretty recently, and are composed of tank Alexander “Tred” Madgwick-Smith, Support players Mark “Lv1Crook” Leveleki, Brice “FDGod” Monscavoir, and Valdemar “yoham” Fog von Qualen, and DPS players Nikolai “Naga” Dereli and Daniel “xzodyal” Castro. They will be coached by head coach Julien “René” Garcia and assistant coach Benjamin “BenBest” Dieulafait.
This was the former Team Peps roster which placed third in the Overwatch Champions Series 2024 – EMEA Stage 2.
With this, Gaimin Gladiators will join 16 other teams in the Overwatch 2 tournament of the Esports World Cup 2024, alongside other established names such as Crazy Raccoon, Virtus.pro, Team Falcons, Fnatic, Zeta Division, BLEED, and ENCE.
Meanwhile, Gaimin Gladiators has also signed up its Fortnite roster, composed of Ukrainians Vanya “Vanyak3kk” Sakach and S1ned, Russians Nefrizi and HowLy, and Michał “Kami” Kamiński from Poland.
Gaimin Gladiators is one of the 30 teams selected for the Esports World Cup Club Support Program, which gives teams a one-time six-figure stipend if an organization is willing to enter new esports as well as additional funding each year if they drive viewership and fan engagement to the Esports World Cup.
“The Club Support Program is critical to the EWC Foundation’s vision of building a stronger esports ecosystem and elevating esports as global sports,” Esports World Cup foundation CEO Ralf Reichert earlier said.
