The Snapdragon Pro Series, the world’s largest multi-title esports ecosystem, delivered by ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and Qualcomm Technologies Inc., has announced that the Brawl Stars Last Chance Qualifier will be held at gamescom in Cologne, Germany on August 24-25.
According to a press release by EFG, this event will feature top gamers competing in a live setting in front of over 320,000 attendees.
Sam Braithwaite, VP of Game Ecosystems, Mobile, at ESL FACEIT Group, expressed excitement about returning to gamescom for the third consecutive year in partnership with Supercell. He highlighted the Last Chance Qualifier as a prime example of thrilling esports narratives, where underdogs fight for a place on the global stage, emphasizing mobile gaming’s accessibility.
“This is the perfect event to do it with; The Last Chance Qualifier represents the esports storylines fans love – hungry underdogs fighting for their place on the world stage – and celebrates how mobile’s accessibility can be a path to the highest level of pro play,” Braithwaite said.
The Last Chance Qualifier will see 12 elite teams from regions including Asia Pacific, EMEA, South America, North America, and China vie for the final four spots at the 2024 Snapdragon Pro Series Brawl Stars World Finals. Thousands of fans will witness these teams compete for a share of a $2 million prize pool.
Gamescom’s Hall 8 will transform into a mobile esports hub, featuring partner booths, games, activities, meet-ups, and more. Attendees can participate in skill-based games for prizes, interact with content creators, and design custom Snapdragon Pro Series jerseys. This initiative by EFG, Qualcomm Technologies, and Supercell aims to celebrate a crucial milestone leading to the Brawl Stars World Finals and promote mobile esports growth.
Kim Jensen, Head of Brawl Stars Esports at Supercell, emphasized the significance of hosting the Last Chance Qualifier at gamescom, one of Germany’s most popular mobile gaming events. With over 33 million mobile gamers in Germany and 5 million active Brawl Stars players, this event promises to be a highlight for attendees.
“Hosting the Last Chance Qualifier at gamescom brings competition in one of Germany’s most popular mobile games to a passionate audience,” Jensen said. “We’re looking forward to sharing this pivotal moment on the road to the Brawl Stars World Finals with hundreds of thousands of attendees.”
