One of Germany’s leading esports organizations is aiming to promote young talents that can become future esports stars.
Berlin International Gaming or BIG has launched its new BIG SELECTA funding program that aims to promote young talents and create the basic structures for an esports career.
BIG Chief Gaming Officer Roman Reinhardt said, “with BIG SELECTA, we aim to create healthy competition to bring out many talents rather than build a single dominant team for national competitions. We look forward to guiding the next generation of esports stars to success. Our goal is to effectively promote professional gaming in Germany and help young talents reach their full potential.”
“BIG SELECTA is aimed at ambitious young gamers who want to develop their skills in esports. The program offers regular coaching as well as workshops, intensive training and individual development plans to support talents in the best possible way,” BIG said in a press release on its website.
Among the offers on the table are financial support, objective and feedback, bootcamps and events, media training, and professional support.
Initially, BIG SELECTA will focus on Counter-Strike 2, with plans to incorporate other games in the future. The program will also collaborate with existing funding initiatives. Notably, BIG SELECTA Talents are allowed to pursue their careers with external clubs while receiving support from the program.
The program has already brought on board several promising talents. Among them is “KungFu_AJ,” who has been recognized as one of Germany’s top Counter-Strike prospects. Starting his gaming journey alongside his father, KungFu_AJ has evolved into a significant talent. The targeted support from BIG SELECTA aims to further hone his skills.
“In the next phase of the BIG SELECTA program, an application process is planned to give German talents the opportunity to secure a place in the talent promotion program,” BIG also said in its statement.
A BIG SELECTA talent team will compete on June 15gn against XPERION NXT at the DACH CS Masters, featuring players Fynn “statikS” Szusdziara, Deniz “Icey” Görgülü, Lenny “nezoku” Thieme, Oliver Lucas “oli” Majchrzyk, and Jakub “Anomatron1k” Ziolkowski.
