ESL Pro League Season 24 Confirms Stacked Katowice Team List

ESL has confirmed the full 16-team field for ESL Pro League Season 24, with Spirit, Falcons, Vitality, MOUZ and NAVI among the leading Counter-Strike 2 teams heading to Katowice.

Twelve teams received places through the August Valve Regional Standings, while four additional slots went to the winners of ESL Challenger League Season 51 across Europe, North America, South America and Asia. All 12 VRS invitees accepted their places.

The tournament runs from October 3 to 11, with every stage played on LAN. The eight teams surviving the opening Swiss stage will advance to the Spodek Arena playoffs from October 9-11.

Spirit, Falcons and Vitality Lead VRS Invites

The direct invite list contains many of the biggest organisations in international Counter-Strike.

Falcons, Spirit, FURIA, Vitality, MOUZ, NAVI, 9z, Aurora, G2, BetBoom, Legacy and PARIVISION all secured VRS invitations. The lineup reflects the August standings and brings together several teams expected to contend for major trophies during the second half of 2026.

The 12 direct invitees are:

• Vitality, MOUZ and Natus Vincere
• 9z and Aurora
• G2 and BetBoom
• Legacy
• PARIVISION

Falcons enter the event with a roster featuring NiKo, m0NESY, karrigan, TeSeS and kyousuke, while Spirit continue to build around donk and sh1ro. Vitality remain another major threat with ZywOo, ropz and apEX, and MOUZ will arrive with their latest lineup around torzsi, Spinx, xertioN, PR and xelex.

With virtually every VRS invitation accepted, ESL Pro League Season 24 will immediately offer one of the deepest 16-team fields of the autumn CS2 calendar.

Four Challenger League Winners Complete the Field

The final four places were earned rather than awarded through the global VRS route.

1win qualified as the ESL Challenger League Season 51 Europe winner, M80 earned the North American position, ShindeN came through South America and TYLOO secured the Asian slot.

That gives the tournament four teams arriving through regional competition:

1win are particularly interesting after recently adding organisational backing to the project featuring nafany, Ax1Le, fame, ArtFr0st and BELCHONOKK. ESL Pro League provides that lineup with another opportunity to test itself against established Tier 1 opposition.

Season 24 Moves Entire Competition to LAN

ESL Pro League Season 24 also introduces an important structural change.

Unlike Season 23, where earlier stages were played online before the playoffs moved to LAN, the entire Season 24 competition will take place in person. ESL reduced the field to 16 teams as part of the change.

All Swiss matches will be best-of-three. Eight teams advance to the playoffs, where the quarterfinals, semifinals and third-place match remain best-of-three before the championship series switches to a best-of-five.

That creates a compact tournament where teams cannot rely on an extended multi-stage format to recover from a poor opening week.

Spodek Arena Returns to ESL Pro League

The final three days will take place inside Katowice’s Spodek Arena, one of Counter-Strike’s most recognisable venues.

ESL Pro League has not traditionally occupied the same arena-scale position as IEM Katowice in recent years. Season 24 represents a significant return to large live playoffs for the competition, continuing ESL’s effort to put the decisive matches back in front of substantial crowds.

The event also carries $1 million in total winnings and contributes to the ESL Grand Slam race. ESL lists $125,000 in direct prize money and a $170,000 club reward for the champion, with additional payouts distributed throughout the field.

Roster submissions close on September 19, while tournament seeding is scheduled for September 21. Teams must retain a majority of the roster connected to their original invite to remain eligible.

Assessment

ESL Pro League Season 24 has assembled a field with very few obvious weak points.

Spirit, Falcons, Vitality, MOUZ, NAVI and FURIA give the tournament considerable championship-level depth, while teams such as G2, Aurora and PARIVISION provide additional threats. The Challenger League representatives also have a clear opportunity to prove that regional qualification can translate into results against elite competition.

The 16-team format should increase the pressure immediately. There is no extended preliminary stage filled with lower-ranked teams, and only half of the field reaches the Spodek.

More importantly, bringing the entire tournament back to LAN gives Season 24 a stronger competitive identity. From October 3 onward, every match will take place in Katowice, with the surviving eight eventually moving into one of Counter-Strike’s most historic arenas.

For a tournament headlined by many of the current VRS leaders, the fight simply to reach those arena playoffs could be almost as difficult as winning them.
