The Snapdragon Pro Series, a mobile esports tournament, will be co-hosted by Qualcomm and ESL. This will feature a massive $2 million prize pool.

Qualcomm Technologies, a manufacturer of mobile semiconductors, has created a collaboration with ESL. Qualcomm has described this series as a “premier, global, cross-genre competition” in “one of the largest mobile esports ecosystems in the world.”

Format and participating regions

The Pro Series was announced a few days ago. At the moment, not much information is known, but we will surely learn more as time goes on. So far, however, we know that there will be several tournaments in different regions. These regions include Europe, China, the Middle East, North America, Asia Pacific, and North Africa.

It is not known if other regions will be added. The mobile event will consist of three stages: the first stage will be the Open, the second the Challenger, and finally the Masters, which will again be broadcast live. This system is intended to offer each and every player from different regions the chance to participate in the tournament.

Although the prize pool has not yet been determined, it is currently estimated to be around $2 million. More and more often you can see the mobile sector following suit and also providing larger and larger prize pools. However, this prize pool can still vary and possibly it will be even more. The current estimate of the prize pool has been confirmed by Qualcomm.

Growing Mobile Esport

ESL issued the following statement on the matter, “The rapid rise of mobile esports is well documented, and we are incredibly proud of the role ESL has played in this to date. Our new collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and its Snapdragon brand will bring our mobile ecosystem to its full potential. We look forward to changing the future of mobile esports for players and fans around the world and continuing to create a world where everyone can be someone.”

For now, that’s all the info that’s known, but additional information about the Pro Series should be released again next month. The ESL Mobile Open also took place last year, and seven games were played: PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Asphalt 9: Legends, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Legends of Runeterra, and lastly Clash of Clans. The Pro Series is a multi-genre competition, and we’re sure to see some of these games again at the tournament this year.
