Envy Gaming Raises $40 Million in Latest Round of Investment

Led by television company Gray Television, Esports organization Envy Gaming has managed to raise some $40 million in its latest investment round. Envy is the parent company of Team Envy, Dallas Fuel and Dallas Empire, with the latest announcement also having seen two directors from Gray Television join Envy’s board of directors.

Team Envy are active in Overwatch, Rocket League, Halo, Call of Duty and other Esports titles, while the org also has a number of content creators and personalities on its books. It has been a period of growth for the organization, who has added to its ranks heavily, ever since the addition of musician Post Malone as co-owner in August last year.

How Team Envy Has Continued to Grow Over Recent Months

Since then, Envy has signed the Botez twins, along with Sebas Beron and BobbyPoff, two leading names from the world of Warzone. Meanwhile, Gray Television owns many of the biggest television stations in the United States, helping them in reaching an estimated 24% of homes across the country.

Speaking on the announcement, Gray Television CEO Hilton H. Howell Jr stated that: “We’re excited to lead this investment in Envy Gaming, an organization known for breaking ground and pushing the limits of what the future holds for gaming and entertainment.”

Meanwhile, Team Envy CEO, Adam Rymer, also had his say on the latest round of investment: “Esports and gaming is the fastest-growing area across all of media and entertainment. Building global communities through content and engagement, similar to what the world has seen in the music, film and TV industries, is an endeavor we’re incredibly excited to work on with Gray as our partner.”

Who Else Invested in the Organization?

Envy co-founder and Chief Gaming Officer Mike “Hastr0” Rufial also spoke highly of its main investor, stating that: “From the first time we talked to Gray, it became evident to me that our leadership team and winning culture at Envy had found a perfect partner to help continue our great success.”

Team Envy is boosted by the inclusion of ken Hersh, who is a part owner of MLB team the Texas Rangers. Other national investors helped the org in reaching a record level of investment.
