The first stage of DreamLeague S19 is almost over and at this point, we already know who most of the qualified teams are. We also know that some of the favorites failed to perform at the expected level.

Talon Esports and ex-HellRaisers disappointed their fans. For ex-HR there’s still a glimmer of hope left. But Talon have been eliminated.

The final day of stage one will determine one more qualified team in group A and three more qualified teams in group B. What we know for a fact is that Evil Geniuses, Gaimin Gladiators, Shopify Rebellion, and Team Liquid will advance to stage two of DreamLeague S19.

The current situation

Right now, with just one match left to be played, TSM, Execration, Team Aster, and ex-HellRaisers are still fighting in group A. There’s a high chance that the winner of these four teams will be Aster, simply because they have an easy opponent in the last match of the group while their rivals have tough matches.

The fact that TSM have six points while Aster only have five doesn’t mean anything. TSM will need to play Gaimin Gladiators, which is almost an autoloss, while Aster will need to play against Entity, which is almost an autowin.

The other two teams that are left in the race will compete against two of the strongest teams in the group: Shopify Rebellion and Evil Geniuses. Because of that reason, it is hard to be optimistic about their chances.

In the other group, the situation is a lot less clear. Apart from Team Liquid, who have already qualified for the next stage with a record of 4 W – 2 D – 0 L, four other teams are competing for the remaining three tickets. These teams are beastcoast, OG, Team Spirit, and Tundra Esports.

The statistics seem to indicate that beastcoast, Spirit, and Tundra will be the winners. But we should never underestimate OG. After all, this is a team that has already demonstrated great determination. The fact that they never give up and are never discouraged is quite impressive.

Unfortunately for Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi, Nigma Galaxy got eliminated early and will need to rethink everything from scratch. Their second DPC Tour was a disaster. They were relegated to Division II and didn’t survive the first stage of DreamLeague S19. These results are guaranteed to give Kuro a lot of headaches.
