EA Apologizes for Battlefield 6 Launch Issues and Offers Free Rewards

Electronic Arts (EA), after the launch of Battlefield 6 a few days ago, issued a formal apology regarding technical issues experienced by players. Numerous players reported server crashes, connectivity issues, and the annoying “server full” message, making the game unplayable or hardly playable. EA recognized the impact the issues were having on people and offered in-game compensation for customers that were affected.

In compensation for some of the launch problems, EA is offering players compensation for the launch experience. Each player will receive 12 Hardware Boosters that enhance performance for each weapon and 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters to allow players to progress faster. Players should expect to receive the items in their inbox while playing over the weekend. 

Also, the players who purchased Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition will receive full access to the Season 2 Battle Pass, allowing them to get more additional content and progress. This was to address players who purchased the premium edition more specifically and also players in general for the launch experience.

Technical Difficulties and Fixes

Some of the issues experienced at launch related to the EA App, where some users got an error that said “purchase to play.” This error mistakenly told players to purchase downloadable content to access game modes even though the players already own the base game. EA moved quickly, providing a fix and asking affected players to restart the game, when the hoped-for answer lay in the fix.

Although players have reported a more stable server after the fixes, some players still experience outages from time to time. Erring on the side of caution, EA and DICE have said they will continue to monitor and push fixes to keep the play extreme steady.

Conclusion

While it may have taken a thaw to thaw the frozen reception of the initial bad start, Battlefield 6 has received quite a positive reception with strong game reviews and a high Metacritic score and a mostly positive reception from the healthy player base. EA is working quickly to right their wrongs, apologize, and seek compensation for player frustration and to apologize for any trust lost with some players.
