DreamLeague Season 20 is a Dota 2 tournament of great importance. Apart from the fact that it offers $1 million in prize money, it also gives teams the opportunity to qualify for Riyadh Masters, which will be a $15 million tournament.
Given how little money can be made from Dota Pro Circuit events these days, a competition like this one is highly valued by every professional team.
The teams that will compete in DreamLeague Season 20 have been decided based on their DPC performance. The tournament reunites the best teams from all of the six official regions.
To be fair, not all of the participants have been selected purely based on results. Team Secret, for example, should not have been invited to participate if that were the case. A total of 16 teams will compete in the event and 15 of them are already known. The 16th will be decided in the coming days.

A close look at these names quickly reveals that they’re all the usual suspects. One important team that is missing is BetBoom Team. But they might get invited as the 16th participant.
It will be interesting to see Team Aster in action again. They have upgraded their roster in recent months and are now a formidable force in China. In their first five matches of Tour 3, they got five victories.
From the SEA region, Talon Esports will be the strongest competitor. They have one of the best carry players in the world and their captain is also very knowledgeable.
South America is also well-represented, thanks to teams like Evil Geniuses and beastcoast. Both of them are always undefeated regionally and only lose when they need to face each other.
9Pandas and Spirit will try to compete against Western Europe’s giants. It won’t be easy, but both of them have what it takes to be victorious at this competitive level.
Obviously, the strongest region is WEU. This is where the winner is likely to come from and the battle is going to take place, as it usually does, between Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid. One of them is almost guaranteed to be in the Grand Final. If everything goes according to plan, both of them will play in it.
