The announcement of Counter-Strike 2 has caused a stir in all esports communities. Many professional players, content creators, and streamers have had access to the game’s beta and are given many opinions. Moreover, it is worth noting that most of the opinions are very good, so the community is looking forward to the global release of CS2.

One of the world’s most popular content creators, Dr Disrespect, claims that Valve’s new shooter is a noticeable improvement, but it won’t make an extreme difference to what has been seen.

Could CS2 eclipse VALORANT?

Exactly one week ago, Valve announced the arrival of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), which had already been strongly rumored recently. There is no doubt that this information caused a total revolution, and all Valve’s shooter lovers burst with joy. In addition, many content creators with a solid and broad fan base have given their opinions.

It’s no secret that we are all anxious to see what Valve’s new shooter will offer us. Furthermore, this could affect the competitive scene of FPS video games like VALORANT in some way, both on a competitive and casual level.

Many community members think that the VALORANT scene could be in danger with the arrival of CS2. Some professionals who leaped CS:GO to VALORANT could return in the new title. However, Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has spoken about it in a live stream on his channel.

Dr Disrespect said that Riot should not worry at all (at the moment) about the arrival of CS2. Instead, the content creator claims that the release of Valve’s new title will be a real doozy, but it won’t be able to eclipse VALORANT.

Dr Disrespect’s thoughts on CS2 and VALORANT

Dr Disrespect spoke very confidently on the subject, saying that he wouldn’t be worried if he were part of the VALORANT team. He also said that while Valve could have done something amazing, it’s not that big of a deal.

He then stated that the biggest example of the changes in CS2 is the smokes, but then asked Valve if they would show anything else as the weeks went by. This refers to the fact that he considers the most noticeable change in the game to be the smokes; otherwise, he considers everything the same.

Then, Dr Disrespect emphasizes that CS2 will not be a strong competitor for VALORANT, as he considers the new game an update but not an innovation.

However, Dr Disrespect also praised what would come with Valve’s new game. He believes the smoke grenade update was necessary for the game.

“It’s not going to be a game-wrecking thing, but it’s a cool feature that they added and will bring a breath of fresh air to Counter-Strike.”

At the moment, we are at the beta stage of the game. However, several players are already trying out all that CS2 will bring, and assumptions are already being put on the table.

“I’m also very interested in how it will affect the pro scene. So, it will be fun to watch.”
