DPC Tour 3: North America results (partial)

North American Dota is not exactly the best in the world, but teams like Shopify Rebellion still keep it respectable. In Tour 3 of Dota Pro Circuit 2023, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and his squad won the first three matches without losing a single game. And one of their opponents was TSM!

This clearly shows that Tal “Fly” Aizik has adapted to the latest patches and probably understands the meta better than any other captain in the region.

What is fascinating about Rebellion is not only that they win. It’s how they win. On May 22 for instance, they had to play against ALPHA. And they won the entire match in 39 minutes. Their performance was very impressive.

In both games they used Spirit Breaker and they combined him with additional high-mobility heroes and carries that can farm very quickly if space is provided for them.

Meanwhile, ALPHA tried to play a Mirana strategy both times. But it didn’t work. You need perfect execution when you’re dealing with Rebellion. And ALPHA weren’t capable of that.

Partial results

Right now, Shopify Rebellion are the leaders and there’s nobody that can realistically defeat them. They already had their match against TSM, and there’s almost no chance that nouns will be able to cause an upset.

This means that they will win the regional league. But how will they do at the Bali Major, after playing against competitors that are much weaker than the ones they will face there?

For TSM, the second place seems almost guaranteed. Their only rival will be nouns, who are currently doing quite well: 2 W – 0 L and zero game losses.

Five teams are struggling to win matches. Two of them, ALPHA and felt, have zero victories so far. The other three have only one. In the case of felt, we don’t yet know how strong or weak they are because they only played one match. Over the next 10 days, we’ll find out if they are good enough to retain their Division I spot.

In the case of B8, everyone expects at least a fourth place. This is the team of Danil “Dendi” Ishutin. Seeing him struggling to win matches even against the weakest competitors is a bit sad. After all, he used to be the most famous man in Dota 2 after he won The International 1.
