DPC EEU Tour 3 Division I: Week 3 preview

Week three of Eastern Europe’s DPC: Tour 3 is about to begin and the battle for the Arlington Major tickets reserved for this region is fierce. Only three of the eight participants will qualify and only five of them will receive any DPC points at all.

So far, the favorites have played well and mostly won their matches. But they will soon start to encounter each other.

Current rankings

Team Spirit, who won The International in 2021, managed to win the first two matches. The first opponent they defeated was Pari Parni, which makes their victory less relevant, but the second one was Natus Vincere.

After the first two weeks, the complete rankings table of the region looks like this:

  • Outsiders: 2 W – 0 L
  • Team Spirit: 2 W – 0 L
  • Natus Vincere: 2 W – 1 L
  • One Move: 2 W – 1 L
  • BetBoom Team: 1 W – 1 L
  • Rune Eaters: 1 W – 1 L
  • Mind Games: 0 W – 3 L
  • Pari Parni: 0 W – 3 L

It seems that Semion “Slayer” Krivulya’s team, Mind Games, together with Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov’s team, Pari Parni, are doomed to fail. It is not yet certain that they will lose their position in Division I, but they are unlikely to qualify for the Major.

Upcoming matches (week 3)

Week 3 of DPC EEU Tour 3 Division I features five matches:

BetBoom Team vs. Rune Eaters

There is no clear favorite in this match but there is none thing that slightly favors BBT: the fact that Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev is their captain. It’s hard to overstate the amount of Dota 2 knowledge he possesses and if his team can implement his ideas, they are more likely to succeed than Rune Eaters.

Mind Games vs. Pari Parni

Both teams are very weak right now, but perhaps 9pasha can make the difference. His glorious past with Virtus.pro and the experience he accumulated in the process may prove to be valuable in this match.

Natus Vincere vs. Outsiders

Alexey “Solo  Berezin and Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko will play against their former teammate, Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. All three of them used to win Majors together for Virtus.pro but here, they will be enemies. And the latter is more likely to succeed thanks to the overall strength of his lineup.

Team Spirit vs. Rune Eaters

This should be an easy match for the TI champions. Rune Eaters has absolutely nobody whose experience can compensate for the raw individual skill of their opponents.

One Move vs. BetBoom Team

This is another balanced confrontation that could end with any result. One move currently has a better score, but BBT’s lineup is slightly stronger on paper.
