SG Esports has surprisingly become the first all-Brazilian roster to qualify for the TI. The South America qualifiers for the TI have come to an end. The actual favorite was NoPing, who came out of nowhere last DPC season and who kicked beastcoast off the throne.

SG Esports with the big suprise

However during the qualifier, they were immediately knocked down into the lower bracket by Infinity. NoPing were able to continue their run until they faced Team Unknown, who have been steadily rising in power. SG Esports – who are most known for winning the South American qualifiers for the Kiev Major in 2017- showed a consistent performance in the upper bracket of the Southamerican Qualifier, defeating all teams except Binomistas.

They were able to defeat Infinity in the upper bracket final and then faced Team Unknown in the grand final of the tournament, who they defeated with ease. MRAvo+, host of the South America TI10 Qualifier commented, “The team we saw in the Closed Qualifiers is the result of over a year of hard work and improvements that finally clicked in the Qualifiers.”

SG is the first all-Brazilian lineup to ever qualify for the TI This win is a milestone for SA Dota. SG will be the first all-Brazilian lineup to compete at the TI.

The only Brazilian representative to ever make it to the TI was Pain Gaming at TI8, however they competed with a non-Brazilian, Romanian Aliwi “w33haa” Omar. At that time, Pain Gaming finished in last place. One of Pain Gaming’s players was Otávio “Tavo” Gabriel and he will return to TI this year with SG Esports.

SG`s line-up has currently these active players:
Guilherme “Costabile” Costábile
Adriano “4dr” Machado
Otávio “Tavo” Gabriel Cerqueira Silva
Thiago “Thiolicor” Cordeiro
Matheus “KJ” Diniz (coach)
Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento (substitute)
