Fans began a fan movement to replicate True Sight Harassment by changing BLAST to showcase one’s celebrated animated highlight video content. BLAST Dota’s highlight videos utilize animated visuals to present notable moments from their tournament, with BLAST occasionally incorporating the neutral boss Roshan into matches between BetBoom Team and HEROIC, continually employing quick, entertaining edits and different perspectives. Continuing the True Sight methods, BLAST animated highlights featured typical scoreboard refreshing, with each BLAST highlight animated and incorporating character scenes and experiences, as well as elaborating on every match moment into a short story.

Each animation, provided by u/dmurio in the Dota 2 community, takes approximately twelve hours to produce and BLAST releases animations each time within a day of matches, allowing fans to see shortages of plays, and feel competitive and emotional energy once again after matches are aired that day.

The Dota 2 community’s reaction has been incredibly positive. There has been plenty of commentary from fans on Reddit who said BLAST’s highlight packages are the closest thing to True Sight that we have seen since Valve has slowed production on the beloved docuseries format. True Sight was exceptional at humanizing players and showing us the human emotion behind the magnitude of high-stakes matches. BLAST was able to capture the same type of storytelling and emotional investment using their own animations.

Fans appreciate the interactive aspect as BLAST commonly asks fans which moments they want to see animated next. This provides engagement for fans and allows them to feel like they are part of the artistic process. The nostalgic experience with modern production value has regenerated excitement in both dedicated Dota 2 fans and casual viewers alike who are used to lower-quality broadcasts.
