The DOTA 2 EWC 2025 kicked off with a Group Stage (July 8–11), featuring 16 teams split into four groups playing best-of-two round-robin matches.

The top teams of each group moved directly to the Playoffs. Meanwhile, the remaining teams (2nd to 4th place) fought for a last chance to advance in the Elimination phase.

Elimination Phase Results

The Elimination Phase, held from July 12 to 13, followed a gauntlet format. This means that from the three teams, third- and fourth-place teams played first. Then, the winner will face the second-place team for a shot at the Playoffs.

Eight teams now remain in the DOTA 2 EWC 2025 playoffs, which will run from July 16 to 19. The bracket is single-elimination with a third-place decider. Quarterfinals and semifinals are best-of-three (Bo3), while the Grand Final is best-of-five (Bo5).

The DOTA 2 EWC 2025 boasts a $3 million USD total prize pool. Distribution is as follows:

  • 1st Place: $1,000,000 + 1,000 Club Points
  • 2nd Place: $500,000 + 750 Club Points 
  • 3rd Place: $300,000 + 500 Club Points 
  • 4th Place: $200,000 + 300 Club Points 
  • 5th-8th Places: $125,000 each + 200 Points
  • 9th-12th Places: $75,000 each
  • 13th-16th Places: $50,000 each

Teams also compete for Club Championship points, which carry weight in the broader Esports World Cup standings.
