Twelve teams will compete starting on December 9 to December 15, 2024. This treats the fans to a week-long feast of endless top-tier Dota 2 action. Tournament Format and Prize Pool

Beginning the tournament on December 9 to 11, twelve teams will start the group stage matches off-venue. Only the top eight teams will get to proceed to the playoff stage. The teams will compete from December 13–15, 2024, in the Royal Paragon Arena with a live audience. 

All participating teams will take their share from the prize pool. Here’s the breakdown as follows:

2. 2nd Place: $175,000
3. 3rd Place: $120,000
4. 4th Place: $85,000
5. 5th & 6th Place: $57,500 each
6. 7th & 8th Place: $47,500 each
7. 9th & 10th Place: $30,000 each
8. 11th & 12th Place: $25,000 each

Team Selection and Qualifiers

The Dota 2 ESL One tournament will gather 12 of the world’s top Dota 2 teams in Bangkok. These participating teams will enter the tournament through direct invitations and qualifiers. The ESL Pro Tour leaderboard serves as the basis for the direct invitations. The top four top-ranking teams there will receive direct invitations for the tournament. 

On the other hand, the remaining 8 slots will go to the winning teams of the regional qualifiers. These events will begin with the Open Qualifiers on November 11-14, 2024. Then followed by the Close Qualifiers however, there are no information available for this event in the meantime. 

It expects that all six regions of Dota 2 esports will have a representative in the tournament. These regions include Eastern Europe, Western Europe, China, Southeast Asia, South America, and North America. Only two regions will have two representatives each in the tournament. Meanwhile, the remaining will get at least one slot each.
