Dota 2 – Aui_2000 Named as New Tundra Esports Head Coach

Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling has been announced as the new head coach of Tundra Esports’ Dota 2 lineup, with the org contiuining to invest heavily in the game. The Canadian has a vast amount of experience to his name, having previously coached the likes of Team Secret, Fnatic and Newbee.

The 29-year-old will team up with a number of his former teammates at Tundra Esports, who are currently preparing for the 2022 DPC. It has been a busy period for the org, who recently signed players to long-term contracts, lasting until the end of 2024. Aui has actually been part of the Dota scene since 2012, having developed a reputation for his skills on technical heroes, as well as his innovative item builds.

How Aui_2000 Made His Name in Dota

The veteran has played for a host of North American teams in the past, competing in many major events along the way. Aui was present at The International 3, before winning The International 5 with Evil Geniuses. He would be handed his first coaching role by Team Secret in 2016.

The Canadian has generally done a good job in all of his coaching roles, having steddied the ship at different teams, as well as finishing in the top positions at leading tournaments. He spent the majority of 2018 and 2019 with Fnatic, before moving to Fightining PandaS and CR4ZY, with the latter having been forced to cease operations due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“For me, winning or losing, I want to form a strong foundation. Obviously I want to win, but for me, what’s most important is that we have that strong foundation, we have the right communication where we are letting our ideas be built up by each other. And, hopefully winning is a consequence of what we’ve built together.”

When Will Tundra Esports Be In Action Next?

His arrival is yet another sign that Tundra are looking to make major waves in the Dota scene. The road to The International 11 has very much begun, with Tundra having stated that they are hoping to keep their current roster together for some time to ocme. We will see what impact Aui has had when the team kicks off its 2022 DPC Winter Tour campaign off against Alliance. The match has been scheduled to take place on November 30.
