It’s no secret that when Sentinels announced their departure from the Fortnite competitive scene and, in turn, that they were parting ways with world champion Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, we all began to wonder what the future of esports would hold.

In addition to Sentinels, many other organizations have decided to walk away from the scene, claiming it is not viable due to economic and sponsorship issues. That is why many fans are worried about the competitive future of Fortnite.

Bugha joins Dignitas

While there were many doubts regarding the future of competitive Fortnite, above all, because Bugha, one of the best players in the history of this esports, still did not have a team, right now, those doubts may be disappearing. For the 2019 world champion, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf will play for Dignitas in 2023.

Bugha will now be part of the Dignitas lineup, which consists of the following:

  • Matthew “Mero” Faitel
  • Piero “pgod” Ramirez
  • Camron “Cam” Dean
  • Lucas “Duke” Cardenas

The player will be reunited with two well-known names in the North American community: Mero and Duke. Bugha won the FNCS Grand Royale North America East with both of them in November 2021.

As mentioned earlier, the only 20-year-old player was left without a team last December when Sentinels announced his departure from the Fortnite competitive scene. However, there is no doubt that Bugha is one of the top Fortnite players in the world. In addition to being a world champion in 2019, Bugha has won three Fortnite Championship Series tournaments.

Michael Prindiville, CEO of Dignitas, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Bugha to the Dignitas family. His incredible talent and competitive drive make him a perfect fit for our team. We can’t wait to see him represent Dignitas on Fortnite’s biggest stages.”

As Bugha’s contract with the Sentinels expired at the end of 2022. He was just a free agent for two months, and we’re amazed it’s taken this long for another team to sign him.

Dignitas wants to be at the top of competitive Fortnite

Dignitas has created a potent Fortnite lineup ready to fight side-by-side with the best to be at the top of the world rankings. Now, with the addition of Bugha, the organization wants the 20-year-old to be the mainstay that will take their team to the top in this esports.

Bugha said:

“I am honored to join Dignitas and can’t wait to start. I’m excited to represent one of the best esports teams that believe in me and the future of Fortnite. I look forward to competing with my new teammates, winning championships, and positively impacting the gaming industry together.”

It is still unclear when Bugha’s debut with Dignitas will be. The player is currently competing in FNCS Major 1, but it is unknown if he will be representing the team right now at the Grand Finals, which will take place next weekend.
